THE Philippine Air Force (PAF) has named Clark Development Corporation (CDC) as its Affiliated Reserve Unit of the Year.

Major General Arthur Cordura, commander of the PAF Reserve Command, presented the award to the state-owned firm recently.

Lawyer Noelle Mina Meneses, CDC assistant vice-president for Business Enhancement, received the award during the celebration of the 41st National Reservist Week (NRW) held at Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo in Quezon City.

Meneses serves as the group commander of the CDC reservist group, which is also known as 2320th PAF Affiliated Group Reserve.

The Armed Forces of the Philippine AFP cited CDC's efforts and support to the various activities and initiatives that contribute to nation-building.

The AFP cited the conduct of medical missions and outreach programs, relief operations even during the height of the Taal Volcano eruption at the onset of 2020, and to communities affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The CDC reservists also help in providing donations of personal protective equipment (PPE) to frontliners, and the provision of education and training programs for IP communities, among others.

Other awardees during the NRW celebration are the 1901st Ready Reserve Unit Infantry Brigade as Philippine Army Ready Reserve Unit of the Year, Linaheim Properties Inc. as the Philippine Army Affiliated Reserve Unit of the Year, and the 6th Air Force Wing Reserve (Zamboanga City) as the PAF Ready Reserve Unit of the Year (Wing Level).

Almost 200 CDC employees had completed Military Orientation Training (MOT) initiated by the PAF.

The training included reception activity, lectures, Immediate Action Drills, Firing or Marksmanship activity and Field Training Exercises.

In November 2019, CDC president Noel Manankil signed a memorandum of agreement with PAF for the facilitation of the military training program.
