28 more persons test positive for coronavirus

TWENTY-EIGHT more persons have tested positive for the novel coronavirus in Cagayan de Oro, two of whom are returning overseas Filipino workers (ROF), six are locally stranded individuals (LSIs), and 20 are local transmissions.

This brought the total number of Covid-19 infected persons in the city to 642.

Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said that of the 20 new local cases, five are close contacts of previously confirmed cases.

All new Covid-positive LSIs and ROFs were brought to the city isolation unit upon arrival, City Health Office Epidemiologist Dr. Joselito Retuya reported.

The 615th case is a six-year-old male LSI from Cavite and a resident of Barangay Lapasan. He arrived in Cagayan de Oro on September 15. He was swabbed on September 21 and the result came out positive on September 23.

The boy is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The 616th case is a 28-year-old male LSI from Cavite and a resident of Barangay Carmen. He arrived in Cagayan de Oro via plane on September 16. He was swabbed on September 21 and the result came out positive on September 23.

The man is asymptomatic and is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility. The City Health Office identified one close contact.

The 617th case is a 29-year-old male ROF from the Middle East and a resident of Barangay Patag. He arrived in NAIA on September 11.

The man arrived in Cagayan de Oro and was brought to the city isolation unit. He was swabbed on September 19 and the result came out positive on September 23.

He is asymptomatic and has no known comorbidity. He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The 618th case is a 28-year-old male LSI from Makati and a resident of Barangay Indahag. He arrived in Cagayan de Oro on September 16. He was swabbed on September 20 and the result came out positive on September 23.

He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The 619th case is a 43-year-old male LSI from Pampanga and a resident of Barangay Carmen. He arrived in Cagayan de Oro via plane on September 14. He was swabbed on September 19 and the result came out positive on September 23.

The man is asymptomatic and has no known comorbidity. He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The 620th case is a 28-year-old male ROF from the Middle East and a resident of Barangay Lapasan. He arrived in NAIA on September 9 and traveled via plane to Cagayan de Oro and arrived on September 13.

The man was swabbed on September 19 and the result came out positive on September 23. He is asymptomatic and has no known comorbidity. He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The 621st case is a 24-year-old male LSI from Pasig and a resident of Barangay Lumbia. He arrived in Cagayan de Oro via plane on September 15.

The man was swabbed on September 21 and the result came out positive. He is asymptomatic and has no known comorbidity. He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The 622nd case is a 10-month-old female LSI from Cavite and a resident of Barangay Lapasan. She arrived in Cagayan de Oro via plane on September 15.

The baby was swabbed on September 21 and the result came out positive. She is asymptomatic and has no known comorbidity. She is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The 623rd case is a 34-year-old male local Authorized Person Outside Residence (Apor) residing in Barangay Nazareth. According to Retuya, the man is an employee at the Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC).

He was on duty on September 20 and showed symptoms two days after including chills, weakness and itchy throat. He was swabbed at the NMMC and the result came out positive on September 23.

He is currently at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The 624th case is a 41-year-old male resident of Barangay Macabalan.

According to Retuya, he is a renter in the said barangay. He had complained of shortness of breath and chronic cough. He was brought to the NMMC where he was swabbed and tested positive.

However, the patient died in the emergency room at the NMMC.

The City Health Office identified three household contacts of the man.

The 625th case is a 60-year-old male resident of a gated community in Upper Balulang. He complained of throat discomfort on September 14 and had difficulty in breathing and cough on September 15.

The man was admitted in a private hospital, however, he was then transferred to another private hospital where he died.

The 626th case is a 56-year-old male local APOR residing in Barangay Bulua. He is a government employee in an institution located in a municipality in Misamis Oriental. He is currently admitted at the NMMC.

The man had an onset of throat discomfort while on duty on September 22. He was brought to the NMMC where he was swabbed and tested positive.

The City Health Office identified four close contacts of the man.

The 627th case is a 36-year-old male local APOR residing in a gated community in Barangay Lumbia. He had a fever on September 17. He was brought to the NMMC on September 22 where he was swabbed. The result came out positive on September 23.

The man is currently admitted at the NMMC. The City Health Office identified three household contacts.

The 628th case is a 64-year-old female resident of Barangay 15. She had an onset of symptoms on September 20 such as loss of appetite and cough. She experienced body weakness on September 22.

The woman was brought to the NMMC on September 23 where she was swabbed. The result came out positive in the evening of September 23.

The City Health Office identified 18 household contacts of the woman.

The 629th case is a 28-year-old female local Apor residing in Barangay Gusa. She is a government employee.

The woman had a fever and headache on September 9 and on September 10, she was absent from work. She went back to work on September 14 to attend a meeting. She is currently admitted at the NMMC.

The City Health Office identified eight workplace contacts of the woman.

The 630th case is a 41-year-old male who was exposed to the 497th case, the 69-year-old woman from Barangay Patag. He is the son of the 497th case.

The man was swabbed and the result came out positive on September 23. He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified one household contact of the man.

The 631st case is a 32-year-old male local APOR residing in Barangay Lumbia. Retuya said his workplace is in Iligan City. His last day in Cagayan de Oro was on August 27.

The man was isolated in Iligan City. He had an onset of fever on September 15 and experienced loss of sense of smell and taste on September 18. He was swabbed and tested positive.

The 632nd case is a 66-year-old male resident of a gated community in Barangay Lumbia. He had an onset of body pain on September 14. He was swabbed on September 19 and the result came out positive on September 23.

The man is currently under home quarantine and is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The 633rd case is a 65-year-old female resident of Barangay Lumbia. She is the wife of the 632nd case. She developed cough on September 21.

The woman was swabbed on September 19 and the result came out positive on September 23. She is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The 634th case is a 23-year-old female local APOR residing in Barangay Kauswagan. According to Retuya, she was exposed to a confirmed Covid-positive case in the Department of Health (DOH).

The woman has a history of travel to Malaybalay, Bukidnon on September 16. She was isolated in the DOH isolation facility after she arrived in Cagayan de Oro.

She was swabbed on September 19 and the result came out positive on September 22. She is currently at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified three household contacts of the woman, all of them are asymptomatic.

The 635th case is a 57-year-old female who was exposed to the 528th case, the 58-year-old male local Apor from Barangay Cugman. The woman was brought to the city isolation unit on September 20.

She was swabbed on September 21 and the result came out positive on September 22. She is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The 636th case is a 22-year-old female who was exposed to the 528th case. She is the daughter of the 528th case. Her last day of exposure was on September 26. She was brought to the city isolation unit on September 20.

The woman was swabbed on September 21 and the result came out positive on September 22. She is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The 637th case is a 24-year-old female who was exposed to the 528th case. Her last day of exposure was on September 16. She was brought to the city isolation unit on September 20.

The woman was swabbed on September 21 and the result came out positive on September 23. She is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The 638th case is a 61-year-old male resident of a subdivision in Barangay Bulua. He visited his farm on September 12. He showed symptoms on September 13 and went to a hospital on September 14 for consultation.

The man went back to the hospital on September 15. He had a fever on September 18. He was referred to another private hospital for admission.

He was swabbed on September 21 and the result came out positive on September 23. He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The 639th case is a 55-year-old male local Apor residing in Barangay Iponan. He is a government employee in Iligan City. According to Retuya, he went for work on September 14 to 18. He went back to Cagayan de Oro on September 19.

The man went to a private hospital for consultation. He was swabbed and the result came out positive on September 23. He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility. The City Health Office identified one household contact.

The 640th case is a 25-year-old male local APOR residing in Barangay Kauswagan. He had a fever on September 14 and was under home quarantine. He went to a private hospital to undergo a rapid diagnostic test and the result was negative.

The man went back to the private hospital on September 20 where he was swabbed and the result came out positive on September 22. The City Health Office identified two household contacts and one workplace contact.

The 641st case is a 106-year-old male resident of Barangay Lumbia. He had a fever and cough on September 17. He was admitted in a private hospital where he was swabbed on September 19 and tested positive.

The 642nd case is a 35-year-old male resident of a gated community in Barangay Iponan. He experienced symptoms on September 18, however, he went to Manila on September 19. He was swabbed in Manila on September 20 and the result came out positive on September 22.

He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility. The City Health Office identified 16 direct contacts of the man.

Cagayan de Oro City has recorded 239 active cases, 18 of whom are admitted at the NMMC, 185 are outpatients and 36 are ROFs/LSIs.
