EIGHTY-EIGHT locally stranded individuals (LSIs) from Metro Manila arrived Thursday night, September 24, 2020, at the Bredco Port via the St. Therese of Child Jesus vessel.

Dr. Zeaphard Caelian, commander of the Provincial Incident Management Team, said this is the first vessel with LSI passengers to arrive in the province this week.

Last week, 17 LSIs arrived in the province via the "Hatid Tulong" program of the government.

"The arriving LSIs went straight to their respective LGUs (local government units) upon arrival but the PIMT (Provincial Incident Management Team) did the actual count because sometimes the numbers of the LSIs increase upon arrival," Caelian said.

The LSIs that cannot be accommodated by the LGUs are brought to the provincial quarantine facility in Silay City, he added.

Caelian said the situation at provincial quarantine facilities are manageable at this time because LGUs are also providing their quarantine facilities.

The returning LSIs from Cebu were also brought directly to their respective LGUs.
