Aeta families get aid from CDC, Clark Marriot project

AT LEAST 35 Aeta families recently received assorted groceries and other items from the Clark Marriott Hotel, in partnership with the Clark Development Corporation (CDC), through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project.

The project, dubbed as "Adopt-A-Community," aims to give back to the Aeta community so they can cope with difficult times brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Grocery items, food packs and rice were distributed by the Clark Marriott Hotel to each of the Aeta families residing in Sitio Gayaman and Sitio Caguing in Bamban, Tarlac.

CDC facilitated the identification of the Aeta families, including other logistics necessary to bring the indigenous locals to the Bicentennial Park here for a simple turn-over ceremony. The beneficiaries also received face shields from the state-owned firm.

The event was attended by Clark Marriott General Manager Goeran Soelter, Food and Beverage Director Lyle Kelvin Cajayon, Human Resource Director Carmen Siongco, Chief Engineer John Rainer Cresino, Loss Prevention Manager Ronnie Manalastas and Clark Marriott Restaurant Manager Paulo Manalo.

CDC Assistant Vice President for External Affairs Rommel Narciso, who represented CDC, also thanked the Clark Marriott Hotel for choosing and trusting CDC for the coordination of their CSR project.

“To Clark Marriott Hotel, I hope this would be the beginning of a beautiful partnership for the benefit of the surrounding communities in Clark. The mutual sense of fulfillment and meaning, especially if we have made a positive change in someone’s life, is indeed priceless,” Narciso said.

CDC Community Affairs Officer Ronald Antonio and CDC Community Relations and Social Services Officer Astrud Aguinaldo spearheaded the coordination as part of the CDC’s continuing CSR expanded project.

Other CSR projects of the Marriott Hotel Clark include “A Night of Gratitude," which they hosted to help victims of the Taal volcano eruption and the “Serve360” event which benefitted Aeta kids from Mabalacat City.
