KDF reopens Operations Smile Cleft Center

THE reopening of the Kapampangan Development Foundation( KDF)- Jose A. Datu Medical Center (JADMC) Operations Smile Cleft Center took place with seven cleft lip surgeries on Thursday, September 24, 2020.

The surgeries were successfully done by the cleft center team of doctors and nurses headed by surgeon Dr. Lawrence Owen Loh. The Covid-19 “new normal” protocols for safe surgeries were followed.

“Our job continues. We will do daily follow-ups, visits and virtual post-operation monitoring. Our next cleft surgeries will be on October 15, 2020. We will do a once a month program until the end of the year to master the implementation of the Covid Virus Pandemic New Normal protocols and more," KDF trustee Sylvia Ordonez said.

Ordonez also thanked Glo Nethercutt from Taiwan for the donation of P100,000 and personal protective equipment (PPE) for the cleft center and the prosthetics laboratory.

“Thank you to the Inner Wheel Club District 380 president Chuck Gueco and members, our partner organization who came to donate PPEs, disinfectants, blankets, face masks and shields facilitated and coordinated by our own Nona Ricafort,” Ordonez said.

The Jose B. Lingad Regional Memorial Hospital and the Rodriguez District Hospital also helped in coordinating the needed swab tests.
