Covid-19 cases in Cagayan de Oro now at 655

THE total confirmed coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in Cagayan de Oro has reached 655 after 13 persons tested positive for Sars-CoV-2, City Health Office Epidemiologist Dr. Joselito Retuya reported Friday, September 25.

Of the 13 new cases, three are locally stranded individuals (LSIs), nine are local transmissions and one is a returning overseas Filipino worker (ROF).

The 643rd case is a 25-year-old male ROF from Singapore and a resident of Barangay Indahag. According to Retuya, he tested positive while in Singapore and was isolated for a month.

The man arrived in Cagayan de Oro via plane on September 14 and was brought to the city isolation unit. He was swabbed on September 21 and the result came out positive on September 23.

He is asymptomatic and has no known comorbidity. He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The 644th case is a 62-year-old male LSI from Mandaluyong City and a resident of Barangay Camaman-an. He underwent a rapid diagnostic test in Manila on August 8 and the result was negative.

The man arrived in Cagayan de Oro via plane on September 16 and was brought to the city isolation unit. He was swabbed on September 21 and the result came out positive on September 23. He is asymptomatic and has no known comorbidity.

The 645th case is a 12-year-old female LSI from ParaƱaque and a resident of Barangay Pagatpat. She arrived in Cagayan de Oro on September 16 and was brought to the city isolation unit.

The woman was swabbed on September 21 and the result came out positive on September 23. She is asymptomatic and has no known comorbidity. The City Health Office identified five close contacts.

The 646th case is an 18-year-old male LSI from Bohol and a resident of Barangay Balulang. He arrived in Cagayan de Oro via sea travel on September 15 and was brought to the city isolation unit upon arrival.

The man was swabbed on September 21 and the result came out positive on September 23. He is asymptomatic and has no known comorbidity. He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The 647th case is a 34-year-old male local authorized person outside residence (Apor) residing in Barangay Indahag. He was exposed to the 515th case, the 39-year-old woman from the same barangay.

According to Retuya, the man was assigned in Butuan City. He went home to Cagayan de Oro on September 1. He developed a fever on September 2 and was in isolation on September 16.

His last day of exposure to the 515th case was on September 18. He was swabbed on September 21 and the result came out positive on September 23.

He is currently admitted to the Camp Evangelista hospital.

The 648th case is a 49-year-old male resident of Barangay Carmen. Retuya said the man worked on a farm in Talakag, Bukidnon. His last day of duty was on September 19. He was admitted to a private hospital due to his comorbidities that include diabetes.

The man was swabbed on September 21 and the result came out positive. The City Health Office identified three household contacts, all of them are asymptomatic.

The 649th case is a 26-year-old male resident of Barangay Gusa. He was exposed to the 586th case, the 19-year-old female from the same barangay. He is the cousin of the 586th case. Retuya said he exhibited symptoms upon transfer to the city isolation unit.

The man was swabbed on September 22 and the result came out positive on September 24. The City Health Office identified two close contacts.

The 650th case is a 32-year-old male resident of Barangay Gusa. He was exposed to the 586th case, who is his neighbor and friend. He was swabbed on September 22 and the result came out positive on September 24.

The man is asymptomatic and has no known comorbidity. He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The 651st case is a 34-year-old male resident of Barangay Bugo. He is an employee at a plant located in the said barangay. He developed a fever on September 18 and underwent a check-up on September 21. He was under home isolation on September 22.

The man was swabbed on September 23 and the result came out positive. He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility. The City Health Office identified 13 direct contacts, all of them are asymptomatic.

The 652nd case is a 24-year-old female resident of Barangay Camaman-an. She works as an inventory staff of a logistics company. She is also a solo pad renter.

The woman had an onset of fever on September 10 and was on leave from work on September 11. She was swabbed on September 22 in a private facility and the result came out positive on September 23.

The City Health Office identified four close contacts of the woman.

The 653rd case is a 35-year-old male resident of a subdivision in Barangay Carmen. He is an employee of a private company in Tablon. He had a sore throat on September 20. His last day of duty was on September 21. He also experienced a fever until September 22.

The man was admitted to a private hospital where he was swabbed and the result came out positive. He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified four household contacts of the man.

The 654th case is a 59-year-old female resident of Barangay 25. According to Retuya, she attended a gathering in a government institution in a municipality in Misamis Oriental on September 15. She had a fever on September 22, as well as a loss of sense of taste.

The woman was brought to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC) on September 23 where she was swabbed. The result came out positive on September 24. She is currently at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified three household contacts, all of whom are asymptomatic; eight workplace contacts; and five direct contacts.

The 655th case is a 52-year-old male local Apor residing in Barangay Iponan. He had an onset of fever, cough and headache on September 15. He experienced body malaise on September 18.

The man sought medical consultation in a private hospital on September 23 and was referred to NMMC for swabbing. His swab test result came out positive on September 24. He is currently at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified six direct household contacts of the man.

Cagayan de Oro City registered 239 active cases, 17 of whom are admitted to the NMMC, 184 are outpatients and 38 are ROFs/LSIs.
