Man stabbed dead by nephew

A 49-YEAR-OLD man died after he was stabbed by his nephew in Purok Paghidaet, Barangay Tangub, Bacolod City Friday morning, September 25, 2020.

Police identified the fatality as Ciriaco Pabalinas, of Barangay Tangub.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of Bacolod City Police Office, said the victim was preparing their breakfast when his nephew Mark Lowell Atiemza, 34, attacked him around 8:40 a.m.

He said the victim was stabbed on his chest several times using a kitchen knife. The suspect then proceeded to stab himself.

Pabalinas and his nephew were brought to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital, but Pabalinas did not survive.

Pico said Police Station 8 is still conducting further investigation to determine the motive of the killing.
