Government employee, 4 others nabbed in anti-drug stings

FIVE people, including a government employee, were arrested in separate anti-drug operations in Zamboanga City and Zamboanga del Norte, the police reported Sunday, September 27, 2020.

Police Captain Edwin Duco, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the arrested suspects as Uttoh Aramal Hussin, 31; Reynold Tacurian Ruales, 39; Asimar Salih Singkon; Marvin Bahandi Baricua, 39; and Lowell Hassan Jaralve, 24.

Duco said Hussin was arrested in possession of P10,000 worth of suspected shabu and P200 marked money in a buy-bust operation around 4:25 p.m. Saturday in Sitio Kalang, Sangali village, Zamboanga City.

He said Ruales yielded some P2,000 worth of suspected shabu and P200 marked money when arrested in a buy-bust operation around 5:25 p.m. Saturday in Sitio Buguk Asinan, Kasanyangan village, this city.

Recovered from Singkon were some P2,000 worth of suspected shabu and P200 marked money in a buy-bust operation around 8:05 p.m. Saturday in Sitio Kalang in Sangali village, this city.

Seized from Baricua were some P2,700 worth of suspected shabu and P200 marked money in a buy-bust operation around 11:45 p.m. Saturday in Sta. Catalina village, Zamboanga City.

Duco said Jaralve was arrested in a buy-bust operation around 8:45 p.m. Saturday in Galas village, Dipolog City, Zamboana del Norte.

He said Jaralve is a municipal government employee in Mutia, Zamboanga del Norte.

Recovered from the suspect were some P30,000 worth of suspected shabu and P500 marked money.

Duco said the suspects were detained while formal charges are set to be filed against them. (SunStar Zamboanga)
