Covid-19 cases in Cagayan de Oro reaches 719

THIRTY-FOUR residents and two locally stranded individuals (LSIs) have tested positive for Sars-CoV-2 over the weekend, bringing the total number of confirmed coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in Cagayan de Oro to 719.

Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said nine of the 34 new local cases are close contacts of previously confirmed cases.

City Health Office Epidemiologist Dr. Joselito Retuya said all new Covid-positive LSIs were immediately brought to the city isolation unit upon arrival in the city.

The 684th case is a 21-year-old male LSI from Surigao and a resident of Barangay Tablon. According to Retuya, the man was in Surigao for four to five days for his on-the-job training.

He arrived in Cagayan de Oro via sea travel on September 19. He was swabbed on September 24 and the result came out positive on September 26.

The man has no comorbidity and is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The 685th case is a 55-year-old male resident of Barangay Tablon who worked as an employee in a factory in Barangay Bugo. His last day of duty was on September 12. He developed symptoms on September 14 and had complaints of shortness of breath and a diabetic.

The man was swabbed on September 23 and the result came out positive on September 25. He is currently at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified two close contacts of the man.

The 686th case is a 49-year-old male resident of Barangay Tablon. He is a factory worker in Barangay Bugo whose last day of duty was on September 19. He developed a fever on September 22 and had cough and colds on September 23.

The man was swabbed on September 24 and the result came out positive on September 25. He is currently at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified four close contacts of the man.

The 687th case is a 29-year-old male resident of Barangay Bugo who works in a factory in the said barangay. Retuya said the man was exposed to a Covid-positive case in a municipality in Misamis Oriental.

He developed cough on September 20. He was swabbed on September 24 and the result came out positive on September 26. He is currently at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified eight direct contacts and 19 workplace contacts of the man.

The 688th case is a 30-year-old male resident of Barangay Camaman-an who also worked in the factory in Barangay Bugo. He attended a death anniversary celebration in a municipality in Misamis Oriental on September 9. He developed fever on September 12 and experienced loss of sense of taste on September 15 and loss of sense of smell on September 18.

The man was swabbed on September 19 and the result came out positive on September 26. He is currently at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified one household contact and six workplace contacts.

The 689th case is a 22-year-old female resident of Barangay Bugo who works in a factory in the said barangay. He had fever and cough on September 19.

The woman was swabbed on September 24 and the result came out positive on September 26. She is currently at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified six household contacts and nine workplace contacts.

The 690th case is a 37-year-old female resident of Barangay Lapasan who also works in a factory in Barangay Bugo. Retuya said the woman was exposed to a Covid-positive case in a municipality in Misamis Oriental.

She experienced loss of sense of taste and smell on September 22. She was swabbed on September 24 and the result came out positive on September 26. She is currently at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified five direct contacts and five workplace contacts of the woman.

The 691st case is a 64-year-old male resident of Barangay Patag, who was exposed to the 654th case, the 59-year-old woman from Barangay 25. The man works as a driver of a coaster that delivers government employees to their workplace.

He was swabbed on September 25 and the result came out positive on September 27. He is currently at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The 692nd case is a 31-year-old male resident of Barangay Macabalan. He is a government employee in a municipality in Misamis Oriental. He was exposed to the 626th case, the 56-year-old man from Barangay Bulua who worked as a government employee in an institution located in a municipality in the province.

The 31-year-old man was swabbed on September 25 and the result came out positive on September 26. He is currently at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified two direct contacts of the man.

The 693rd case is a 42-year-old female resident of Barangay Bugo. She is a government employee in an institution located in a municipality in Misamis Oriental. She was exposed to the 654th case.

The woman was swabbed on September 25 and the result came out positive on September 26. She is currently at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified eight workplace contacts.

The 694th case is a 30-year-old male resident of Barangay Bugo. He is an employee of a private institution. The man was swabbed on September 23 and the result came out positive on September 25. He has no comorbidity.

The 695th case is a 24-year-old female local Authorized Person Outside Residence (Apor) residing in a subdivision in Barangay Carmen. She is a government employee. She developed fever on September 17 and experienced loss of sense of smell on September 18 and loss of sense of taste on September 19.

The woman was swabbed in a private testing facility and the result came out positive on September 25. She is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified three household contacts, all of them are asymptomatic.

The 696th case is a 40-year-old male resident of Barangay Cugman, who works as a messenger. He had body pains on September 5 and experienced colds, loss of sense of taste and smell on September 6.

The man was swabbed in a private testing facility on September 23 and the result came out positive on September 25. He is currently at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified two household contacts of the man.

The 697th case is a 37-year-old female resident of Barangay Kauswagan. She developed fever, cough and colds on September 15 and headache on September 17.

The woman was swabbed on September 24 and the result came out positive on September 25. She is currently at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility. The City Health Office identified five close contacts.

The 698th case is a 33-year-old male LSI from Manila and a resident of Barangay Carmen. He arrived in Cagayan de Oro via plane on September 20. He was swabbed on September 25 and the result came out positive on September 26.

The man is asymptomatic and has no known comorbidity. He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The 699th case is a 34-year-old male resident of Barangay Kauswagan. He developed fever on September 18 and had dry cough and diarrhea on September 19. He sought medical consultation together with his wife in private hospital where he was swabbed on September 24 The result came out positive on September 26.

He is currently at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility. The City Health Office identified three direct contacts.

The 700th case is a 36-year-old female local Apor residing in Barangay Kauswagan. She is the wife of the 699th case. She developed fever and had loose bowel movement on September 18. She went on leave from work on September 19.

The woman went to a private hospital for a check-up and was swabbed on September 24. The result came out positive on September 26. The City Health Office identified three direct contacts and two workplace contacts.

The 701st case is a 26-year-old female who was exposed to her workmate, the 654th case. She developed fever on September 11 and experienced colds and loss of sense of taste and smell on September 16. Retuya said she was exposed to the 654th case on September 23.

The woman was swabbed on September 26 in a private testing facility and the result came out positive. She is currently at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The 702nd case is a 40-year-old male resident of Barangay Agusan. He was swabbed on September 25 and the result came out positive on September 27. He is currently at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The 703rd case is a 64-year-old male resident of Barangay Bulua. He was admitted to a private hospital due to renal stone. He was scheduled for elective surgery. He was swabbed on September 25 and the result came out positive on September 26.

The 704th case is a 35-year-old female local Apor residing in Barangay Pagatpat. She works as a medical representative and is currently pregnant. She was swabbed in Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC) on September 26 and the result came out positive on September 27.

The 705th case is a 59-year-old female residing in Barangay Bulua, who was exposed to the 638th case, the 61-year-old man from the said barangay. She is the wife of the 638th case.

The woman, who is a government employee, was admitted in a private hospital on September 21. She was swabbed on September 25 and the result came out positive on September 26. The City Health Office identified one household contact.

The 706th case is a 47-year-old female resident of Barangay Gusa. She had flu-like symptoms on September 10 and underwent a rapid diagnostic test on September 22. She was isolated in a private isolation area.

The woman was swabbed on September 24 and the result came out positive. She is currently at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility. The City Health Office identified four household contacts, all of them are asymptomatic.

The 707th case is a 73-year-old male resident of a subdivision in Barangay Balulang. He had diabetes mellitus and hypertension. He developed cough on September 17 and fever on September 21.

The man was swabbed in a private testing facility and the result came out positive. He was transferred and admitted to the NMMC on September 23.

The 709th case is a 32-year-old male local Apor who was exposed to the 640th case, the 25-year-old male local Apor from Barangay Kauswagan.

The 32-year-old man is currently admitted at the NMMC due to shortness of breath, fever and cough. He was swabbed on September 21 and the result came out positive on September 26.

The City Health Office identified seven close contacts of the man.

The 710th case is a seven-year-old male who was exposed to the 504th case, the 39-year-old man from Barangay Carmen. The boy is the son of the 504th case.

He was swabbed on September 24 and the result came out positive on September 27. The City Health Office identified three close contacts.

The 711th case is a three-year-old male who was exposed to the 504th case. He is the son of the 504th case. He was brought to the city isolation unit on September 19.

The boy was swabbed on September 24 and the result came out positive on September 27. He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The 712th case is a 52-year-old female resident of Barangay Bulua. She had fever and cough on September 25. She was swabbed and the result came out positive on September 27. She is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The 713th case is a 33-year-old male who was exposed to the 649th case, the 26-year-old man from Barangay Gusa. He is the cousin of the 649th case.

The 33-year-old man was brought to the city isolation unit on September 21. He was swabbed and the result came out positive. The City Health Office identified two close contacts of the man.

The 714th case is a 28-year-old female resident of Barangay Nazareth, who was exposed to the 434th and 435th cases.

The 434th case is the 55-year-old woman from a gated community in Barangay Lumbia, and the 435th case is the 32-year-old female local Apor from the same barangay.

The 28-year-old woman was brought to the city isolation unit on September 14. She was swabbed on September 16, in which the test came out invalid. She was swabbed again on September 24 and the result came out positive on September 26.

She is currently at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility. The City Health Office identified two close contacts of the woman.

The 715th case is a 25-year-old female who was exposed to the 605th case, the 26-year-old man from Barangay Lapasan. She is the common-law partner of the 605th case. She went to NMMC on September 21 for her complaints.

The woman was swabbed on September 25 and the result came out positive on September 26. She is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The 716th case is a 30-year-old male local Apor residing in Barangay 26. He is a healthcare worker at NMMC. He experienced body weakness on September 24 and fever on September 25.
