PHILIPPINE Basketball Association (PBA) commissioner Willie Marcial said fans of “The Beast” Calvin Abueva will just have to stay patient as he works on completing his requirements before his suspension can be lifted.

Marcial said in a virtual press conference on Tuesday, September 29, 2020, that he understands fans’ clamor to have the 15-month suspension of Abueva lifted in time for the restart of the 2020 Philippine Cup at the Clark “bubble” but maintains that a process still has to be followed for that to happen.

Marcial added that the procedure is what’s best for everyone involved, most of all Abueva, who was given the penalty for several incidents during the 2019 Commissioner’s Cup.

May tinatapos siyang requirements.

The Phoenix Super LPG has left a spot open on their delegation in the hopes of Abueva being cleared before the Philippine Cup restarts on October 11.

The rules of the PBA “bubble” state that delegates have until 11:59 p.m. of October 10, 2020 to enter the “bubble” before it completely closes its doors. (JNP)
