Cagayan de Oro hits new daily record high virus cases

THE City Health Office of Cagayan de Oro on Tuesday, September 29, reported 43 new cases of coronavirus infection, hitting a new record high in a single day and bringing the total case count to 762.

Of the 43 new confirmed Covid-19 cases, two are locally stranded individuals (LSIs), two are returning overseas Filipino workers (ROFs), and 39 are local transmissions.

According to Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery, 13 of the 39

local cases are close contacts of previously confirmed cases.

The 720th case is a 66-year-old female LSI from Laguna and a resident of Barangay Pagatpat. She was exposed to the 454th case, the 67-year-old man LSI from Laguna and a resident of the said barangay. She is the wife of the 454th case.

The woman arrived in Cagayan de Oro via plane on September 3 and was brought to the city isolation unit. She was swabbed on September 25 and the result came out positive on September 28. She is currently at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The 721st case is a 47-year-old male ROF from Europe and a resident of Barangay Kauswagan. His first swab was in Europe on September 16. He arrived in Manila on September 18 and was swabbed upon arrival. He stayed in a hotel in Manila while waiting for the result, which came out negative on September 20.

The man arrived in Cagayan de Oro via plane on September 20 and was brought to the city isolation unit. He was swabbed on September 26 and the result came out positive on September 28.

He is asymptomatic and has diabetes mellitus. He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The 722nd case is a 23-year-old female LSI from Bohol and a resident of Barangay Carmen. She arrived in Cagayan de Oro via sea travel on September 19 and was immediately brought to the city isolation unit.

The woman was swabbed on September 25 and the result came out positive on September 28. She is asymptomatic and has no known comorbidity. She is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The 723rd case is a 38-year-old male ROF from the Middle East and a resident of Barangay Carmen. He was swabbed in the Middle East on September 14. He arrived in Manila on September 18 and was swabbed upon arrival. He stayed in a house in Manila while waiting for the result, which came out negative.

The man arrived in Cagayan de Oro on September 20 and was brought to the city isolation unit. He was swabbed on September 25 and the result came out positive on September 28.

He is asymptomatic and has no known comorbidity. He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The 724th case is a 40-year-old male local Authorized Person Outside Residence (Apor) residing in Barangay Indahag. He was swabbed on September 26 and the result came out positive on September 28.

The man has chills and colds, at present. He also has no known comorbidity. He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The 725th case is a 90-year-old male resident in a compound in Barangay Carmen, who as exposed to his wife. His last day of exposure was on September 19. He was swabbed on September 26 and the result came out positive. He has no known comorbidity.

The City Health Office identified six household contacts of the man.

The 726th case is a 66-year-old female who was exposed to the 539th case the 35-year-old woman from Barangay 14. She is the mother of the 539th case. Her last day of exposure was on September 14.

The 66-year-old woman was swabbed on September 26 and the result came out positive on September 28. He comorbidities include: hypertension and diabetes mellitus. She is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified seven household contacts of the woman.

The 727th case is a 43-year-old male who was exposed to the 540th case, the 68-year-old man from Barangay Macasandig. He is the son-in-law of the 540th case. His last day of exposure was on September 16.

The 43-year-old man was swabbed on September 26 and the result came out positive on September 27. He is asymptomatic and has no known comorbidity. He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified seven household contacts of the man.

The 728th case is a 36-year-old female who was exposed to the 540th case. She is the daughter of the 540th case. Her last day of exposure was on September 16. She developed fever on September 17.

The woman was swabbed on September 26 and the result came out positive on September 27. The City Health Office identified seven household contacts.

The 729th case is a 68-year-old female who was exposed to the 539th case. She is the friend of the 539th case. Her last day of exposure was on September 13.

The woman was swabbed on September 26 and the result came out positive on September 27. She is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The 730th case is a 27-year-old male who was exposed to the 638th case, the 61-year-old man from a subdivision in Barangay Bulua. He is the son of the 638th case.

According to City Health Office Epidemiologist Dr. Joselito Retuya, the man traveled to a municipality in Misamis Oriental on September 16. He developed cough and fever on September 19.

The man was swabbed on September 26 and the result came out positive on September 27. He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified four household contacts and one worksite contact of the man.

The 731st case is a 58-year-old male resident of Barangay Bonbon. He is an employee of a private factory in Barangay Bugo, this city. He is currently admitted in a hospital in a municipality in Bukidnon.

The man developed fever on September 23. He was swabbed in the said hospital in Bukidnon on September 26 and the result came out positive on September 28.

The City Health Office identified two close contacts of the man.

The 732nd case is a 45-year-old male resident of Barangay Bugo. He is an employee of a factory in the said barangay. He is currently admitted in a hospital in a municipality in Bukidnon. His last day of duty was on September 18.

The man developed fever and body malaise on September 19. He was swabbed on September 26 and the result came out positive on September 27. The City Health Office identified three close contacts.

The 733rd case is a 27-year-old male who was exposed to the 540th case. He is son of the 540th case. His last day of exposure was on September 16.

The man developed fever on September 17. He was swabbed on September 26 and the result came out positive on September 27. He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The 734th case is a 55-year-old female local Apor residing in Barangay Balulang. She was exposed to the 640th case, the 25-year-old man local Apor from Barangay Kauswagan. Her last day of exposure was on September 13.

The woman showed symptoms such as loss of sense of taste and smell, cough and colds. She was swabbed on September 26 and the result came out positive on September 27. She is currently at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified one household contact of the woman.

The 735th case is a 32-year-old female local APOR residing in a subdivision in Barangay Lumbia, who was exposed to the 640th case. She is the co-worker of the 640th case. Her last day of exposure was on September 15.

The woman developed fever and sore throat on September 16 and was brought to the isolation area. She was swabbed on September 26 and the result came out positive on September 27. She is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified 13 close contacts of the woman.

The 736th case is a 47-year-old male local Apor residing in Barangay Indahag. He was swabbed on September 26 and the result came out positive on September 27. He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

He is currently at the isolation facility, at present. The City Health Office identified six household contacts.

The 742nd case is a 30-year-old male local Apor, who was exposed to the 709th case. His last day of exposure was on September 20. He showed symptoms on September 19.

The man was swabbed on September 26 and the result came out positive on September 28. The City Health Office identified three direct contacts.

The 743rd case is a 52-year-old male local Apor residing in Barangay Gusa. He was exposed to the 709th case. His last day of exposure was on September 15. He had sore throat on September 20.

The man was swabbed on September 26 and the result came out positive on September 28. The City Health Office identified seven direct household contacts.

The 744th case is a 40-year-old male local Apor residing in Barangay Patag. He was exposed to the 709th case. His last day of exposure was on September 23. He had colds on September 24.

The 757th case is a 29-year-old female who was exposed to the 599th case. She is the daughter of the 599th case. Her last day of exposure was on September 19.

The woman was referred to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC) where she gave birth. She was swabbed in the said hospital and tested positive.
