A 32-YEAR-OLD man from Mexico town was arrested by Pampanga police after allegedly attempting to bribe authorities.

Pampanga Provincial Police Community Affairs Development Unit Head Major Louie Gonzaga identified the suspect as Ramsey Mandani, a resident of Barangay Buenavista in the said municipality.

Gonzaga said Mandani was arrested after trying to allegedly pay-off cops in exchange for the liberty of a certain Romulo Urdaneta who was earlier collared for participation in illegal cockfighting.

"Mandani handed over P40,000 to a police operative inside the Provincial Intelligence Unit Office at the Pampanga Police Provincial Office which immediately led to his arrest," Gonzaga said.

The suspect is now facing charges for violation of Article 212 or Corruption of Public Officials in relation to Article 6 of the Revised Penal Code.

Gonzaga said the arrest of Mandani should serve as a stern warning to those who will attempt to undermine the integrity and professionalism of the Pampanga police.
