Eastern Visayas logs 89 new recoveries, total at 4,030

EASTERN Visayas recorded 89 more patients who have been cleared of coronavirus disease (Covid-19), bringing the total number of recoveries in the region to 4,030 (85.47 percent), as of Wednesday evening, September 30.

The Department of Health (DOH) in the region said the total number of Covid-19 cases has also reached 4,715 or 0.08 percent of the 5,047,903 total population following the 31 new cases on Wednesday.

Additional cases were recorded out of 961 laboratory samples tested at the Eastern Visayas Regional Covid-19 Testing Center and Divine Word Hospital Virology Laboratory.

In Leyte, the cases are from Tacloban City (3), Ormoc City (1), Babatngon (1), Barugo (4), Bato (1), Dulag (1), Jaro (1), Hindang (2), Kananga (1), Leyte (1), Palo (1), San Miguel (1) and Tabango (1).

In Samar, the cases are reported in Calbayog City (2), Jiabong (1) and Sta. Margarita (4).

Five cases are also recorded in Liloan, Southern Leyte.

As of Wednesday, the region has 643 (13.64 percent) total active cases and 42 (0.90 percent) total deaths. (SunStar Philippines)
