ABOUT 500 students in a public elementary school in Angeles City, Pampanga will benefit from various donations of a local fraternity chapter in this city.

Dubbed as “Support a Child Education Project,” members of Pampanga Triskelions Alumni Organization (Pamtao) of Tau Gamma Phi fraternity donated on Friday, October 2, a photocopier machine, school supplies, various multivitamins and medicines to Don Pepe Henson Memorial Elementary School (DPHMES) on Miranda Extension, Angeles City.

James Balingit, president of the Pampanga Triskelions, said for the fifth straight year, their group has adopted the DPHMES. This year, because of the health pandemic, Balingit encouraged teachers, parents and students to stay strong and hopeful.

Printing of learners’ activity sheets will be easier, according to Mary Ann Manlapaz, principal of DPHMES. She also expressed gratitude to the Pamtao’s substantial donations for their school.

The Pamtao previously constructed a toilet for preschoolers, set up the playground and helped in the beautification of the DPHMES garden.

In 2016, the Pamtao in coordination with DPHMS teachers provided scholarship grants for 20 indigent students and provided them a set of school uniforms and school supplies.

Aside from helping economically challenged families and students, other socio-civic activities conducted by Pamtao include tree planting activities, bloodletting activities, feeding activities, movies for a cause and donations to various orphanages in the Pampanga.

Registered members of Pamtao in the province are estimated at 300 alumni.
