5 Talisay villages record zero active Covid cases

FIVE of the 27 barangays in Talisay City, Negros Occidental have recorded zero active coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases, according to the Talisay City Health Office (CHO).

The CHO reported that Barangays Zone 11, Zone 14, San Fernando, Cabatangan and Katilingban are free from active Covid-19 cases.

It said Barangay Zone 11 previously had three confirmed cases, Zone 14 had two and San Fernando had four.

Barangays Cabatangan and Katilingban, on the other hand, have remained Covid-free since the start of the outbreak.

The CHO initially reported six barangays with no active Covid-19 cases.

Barangay Dos Hermanas, however, logged one additional case on Sunday, October 4.

City Health Officer Dr. Joy Gladys Guanzon said the city has three new confirmed Covid-19 cases on Saturday, bringing the number to 527.

Of the confirmed cases, 146 or 27.7 percent are active cases, she said.

In terms of recoveries, the CHO reported 366 or 69. 4 percent while 15 or 2.8 percent have died.

On October 4, another three confirmed cases were recorded in the city, totaling to 530.

Aside from Dos Hermanas, the additional cases are from Barangays Zone 5 and Efigenio Lizares.

The total active cases decreased to 144 after logging an additional five recoveries summing up to 371, it added.
