(Foreword: This is the continuation of our response to Pepe n Pilar's quest for natural homemade whitener.)

Dear Pepe n Pilar,

Now, here's what you should do with the turmeric recipe I gave the last issue for whiter teeth.

1. Spread 2 teaspoons of the turmeric teeth whitener on your toothbrush.

2. Gently brush your teeth for about 1 to 2 minutes. But, making it to three minutes would be much better.

3. Now, swish the melted coconut oil in your mouth for another minute. Then, spit it out.

4. Rinse your mouth with water.

5. Do this several times a week for about two weeks or about every other day, then you can reduce the frequency to about once or twice a week.

Remember that the mixture may stain your skin around the mouth. So, be careful when brushing your teeth with it. But, if you get the stains, be ready with some milk and apply it for about 5 minutes and then wash it off.

Here's more!

1. You can store whatever is left in the mixture in the refrigerator for some few days.

2. You can appropriate the amount you need. Proportionate the amount of ingredients that you need.

3. Since turmeric is particularly staining and would turn your toothbrush to bright orange, (which luckily would work differently with your teeth) - get a separate soft- to medium-bristled toothbrush for you to use with this natural teeth whitener.

4. Always maintain adequate oral hygiene. Try oil pulling with coconut oil for better oral health. Oil pulling is a dental technique where you swish a tablespoon of oil in your mouth on an empty stomach for around 20 minutes. This would supposedly draw out the toxins in your body, which would not only improve your oral health, but your overall health, too.

Good luck!
