La Trinidad residents urged to visit cemetery early

LA TRINIDAD residents are enjoined to visit their bereaved loved ones in the cemeteries on earlier dates and during their scheduled market day.

On Tuesday, October 6, Mayor Romeo Salda said that for this year’s commemoration of All Saints' Day, all private and public cemeteries, memorial parks, columbariums and the like will be closed to visitors from October 29 to November 4 pursuant to the National Inter Agency Task Force for Covid-19 resolution 72 series of 2020.

“However, on your Market Day, you may visit the aforementioned sites from October 1 to 28 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and must follow guidelines,” he added.

The chief executive said cemetery goers must wear face masks and adhere to the "No Face Mask, No Face Shield, No Entry" policy. Three visitors are only allowed per tomb.

Visitors are likewise prohibited to bring deadly weapons, alcohol, conduct picnics and cooking within the cemetery.

The cemeteries will be closed every Sunday for disinfection purposes.

The public are likewise advised to secure a special pass from their respective barangays if their market day coincides with their coding day.

Salda said all 16 barangays cutflower associations are allowed to sell flowers from October 15 to 28 on Kilometer 5 parking spaces and nobody is allowed to sell at the different cemeteries.
