EYELASH extensions and nail arts may not be new things but unlike other beauty trends, these two never go out of style.

Best friends-turned-business partners Bianca Ledesma, Joyce Tiu and Edith Tablante 100 percent agree on this—going to the beauty salon together is one of their ways of bonding—which is why they brought Manila-based Japanese eyelash extensions and nail art studio Ayumi to Cebu with the brand Ayumi Elite Cebu.

It all started when the friends noticed that Joyce’s eyelash extensions were either too heavy or not long-lasting. They also had a hard time finding a nail salon that would meet their standards when it comes to client safety and cleanliness.

The trio searched for answers before discovering Ayumi, as referred by their friends and some celebrities.

Ayumi is the first Filipino-owned eyelash extension and nail art salon that provides exceptional quality and service from Japan as its staff were well-trained by biggest Japanese company lash company, DOT1101. It only uses sable lashes, the softest and thinnest among eyelash extensions made from natural hair.

Its best-selling product is its Ange Curl Tres Structure, very natural looking and weightless lashes but with noticeable volume. One’s natural lashes are lifted upward before they meticulously attached three different lengths of sable lashes to each natural lash. The design can be the classic natural or the voluminous D Curl.

But before anything else at Ayumi Elite Cebu, its lash technicians—who are experts at what they do—will ask you to sign a form about your eyelash extension experience, followed by a consultation to recommend the best length and volume according to your natural eyelashes. Plus, they will even offer guests a glass of iced tea or water. The salon also has its own brand of nail polishes that are organic, and enriched with vitamins and collagen that will keep keep your nails healthy.

The 85-square-meter, soft pink, white and gold-colored salon has three closed cubicles, three semi-open cubicles and one VIP room. Each cubicle is spacious, beautifully designed, luxurious-looking yet not intimidating.

For its nail services, it has three comfortable recliner chairs in soft gold leather, with light pink curtains as dividers so you can have privacy during your pampering session.

Safety protocols are absolutely in place. Its friendly staff in complete personal protective equipment are checked, assessed and tested regularly. The studio is frequently sanitized. An air sanitizer that uses multiple cleaning technologies is placed to keep the air clean at all times. The protective covering of the recliners are sanitized with disinfectant and UVC after every use.

Ayumi Elite Cebu is located at Bonifacio District, F. Cabahug St., Cebu City.
