HUNDREDS of tricycle drivers received on Wednesday, October 7, relief packs from the Philippine National Police (PNP) under the Rektang Bayanihan program.

PNP Chief General Camilo Cascolan and Mayor Abundio Punsalan Jr. led the distribution of rice and groceries to 300 members of various tricycle operators and drivers associations in the town.

Cascolan said the relief packs were also donated by various sponsors to the Rektang Bayanihan Food Bank, a program initiated by outgoing Police Regional Office-Central Luzon Director Brigadier General Rhodel Sermonia.

"We are extending the generosity of our sponsors to our fellow Filipinos who need assistance, in this case the tricycle drivers in San Simon whose livelihood were affected during the lockdown," Cascolan said.

Punsalan, for his part, expressed gratitude to Cascolan and Sermonia for providing assistance to Simonians.

"We are very thankful to our new PNP Chief Cascolan not only for providing relief packs to Simonians but for also visiting our municipality, the first one he visited in Central Luzon since he was installed," he said.

Cascolan's attendance in the town's activity was followed by his visit at Camp Olivas to personally lead the turnover of the new Central Luzon regional director.
