A COUNTRYSIDE adventure is the best and safest option for now as the Covid-19 pandemic continues to pose a high risk to the public.

The tourism industry has not yet regained its strength as a gathering of more than 10 people are still prohibited by law.

But, one of the tourist spots in the modest town of Manapla - Nathan's Eco-Farm located at Barangay Punta Salong, Manapla, continues to operate even if tourism is on a standstill as they believe that the place can still be enjoyed by some locals who come there in groups of two or three people.

Barangay Kagawad 1-B Jerald Lozada, chairman of the Committee on Environment, Clean and Green and Culture and Arts, takes pride in bringing up the place to Yuhom with its nature and farmville setting.

Kagawad Lozada, who is gifted with the arts, assisted in the artistic setup of the place with the support of the owner Nerylin Tan Lim, who is a member of the Daughters of Mary Immaculate.

Family and friends can safely unwind in the place. There are various fruit trees where they can enjoy picking fruits like pomelo (Cabugao), cotton fruit (Santol), rambutan, bananas and citrus (Calamansi).

They also have vermiculture in making organic fertilizer for farming.

Kagawa Lozada said they also made use of the local resources such as used tires and containers to help beautify the place.

In March 2020, they closed the place due to the Covid-19 risk and restrictions.

With the reactivation of the local tourism, slowly, they also allow fewer people to come provided that the health protocols are properly observed.
