The City Government of Isabela with the help of Mayor Sitti Turabin-Hattam officially inked a memorandum of agreement with M Lhuillier, represented by Basilan area manager Rodelyn Falcasantos, with other representatives, namely, Riva Buenbrazo and Mary Cris Arboladoon on September 9, 2020.
The remittance center and Isabela's joint initiative targets impoverished residents of Basilan.
A total of 1,375 beneficiaries of the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa ating Displaced/Disadvantaged (Tupad) Workers Program will receive insurance coverage. Tupad, in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment, is a cash-for-work program that employs indigents for 10 days in labor works such as vegetable planting, clean and green activities, sanitation and disinfection, etc. to provide poverty-stricken individuals with a source of income.
