THE Toril Police Station in Toril, Davao City continues to be under lockdown after 30 inmates have tested positive for Covid-19.

A total of 13 policemen also underwent swab testing after being exposed to the said inmates.

Davao City Police Office (DCPO) Director Colonel Kirby John Kraft, in an interview with DXDC-Tatak RMN-Davao, said there were nearly 100 policemen assigned at the police station, but only the 13 individuals had exposure to the inmates.

While waiting for the results of the swab test, the policemen will be isolated at the DCPO.

DCPO Spokesperson Police Captain Rosario Aguilar earlier said they will follow the health protocols based on the guidelines released by the Department of Health.

On Tuesday, October 1, 32 inmates of Toril Police Station were scheduled to be transferred to Davao City Jail in Barangay Maa but underwent the swab test per health protocol at the Sta. Ana Testing Center.

The following day, results revealed that 30 out of the 32 inmates have tested positive for Covid-19.

The transfer of the said inmates was canceled and they were sent back to the Toril Police Station, resulting in the lockdown of the station.
