New doctors' oathtaking set on October 26

THE Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) is set to hold the online oathtaking of those who passed the 2020 Physician Licensure Examinations (PLE) on October 26.

"The PRC informs the new passers of the Physician Licensure Examination that the conduct of online oathtaking will be on October 26, 2020, Monday, 10 a.m. to 12 noon, through Zoom," said the PRC.

Last week, 800 out of the 1,424 examinees passed the PLE, led by University of the Philippines (UP)-Manila graduate Maria Carla Buenaflor.

Inductees are instructed to secure an online appointment schedule at http://online.prc.gov.ph and select “e-OATH” as their transaction.

They are then required to print the "Oath of Professional" form, which is downloadable at the PRC Online Services.

Inductees are also directed to wear a formal or business attire and use a white backdrop (white physical or virtual background) throughout the oathtaking ceremony.

To note, oathtaking is a mandatory procedure that each successful examinee needs to participate in order to be issued his/her PRC license and certificate of registration.

But with the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic, the PRC authorized the virtual or online special oathtaking so that successful examinees can register and immediately practice their profession and earn a living. (HDT/SunStar Philippines)
