Coronavirus infected persons in Oro now at 1,068

THIRTY-FOUR individuals, four of whom are persons deprived of liberty (PDLs), tested positive for Sars-CoV-2 over the weekend, bringing the total number of confirmed coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in Cagayan de Oro to 1,068.

Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said 15 of the 30 new local cases are close contacts of previously confirmed cases.

The 34 new Covid-19 cases in Cagayan de Oro City are:

* 1,035th case: a 42-year-old male, who was exposed to his boss, the 999th case. His last day of exposure was on September 30. He had an onset of fever on October 3. He was swabbed on October 8 and the result came out positive. He is currently at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified five direct contacts of the man.

* 1,036th case: a 51-year-old female resident of Barangay Carmen, who was exposed to her husband, the 876th case. Her last day of exposure was on September 28. She had an onset of fever and loss of sense of taste and smell. She was brought the city isolation unit on October 7.

The woman was swabbed on October 9 and the result came out positive. She is set to transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified three household contacts and 10 workplace contacts of the woman.

* 1,037th case: an 18-year-old female resident of Barangay Carmen who was exposed to her father, the 876th case. She had a fever on September 24. Her last day of exposure was on September 28.

The woman was swabbed on October 9 and the result came out positive. She is set to transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

* 1,038th case: a 16-year-old female resident of Barangay Carmen, who was exposed to her father, the 876th case. She showed symptoms on September 25 and 26. Her last day of exposure was on September 28.

The patient was swabbed on October 9 and the result came out positive on October 11. She is set to transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

* 1,039th case: a 33-year-old female resident of Barangay Kauswagan. She had an onset of fever, cough and body malaise on September 23. She went to a private hospital for check up on September 28 and underwent a rapi diagnostic test on September 29. The result was negative.

The woman sough medical consultation on October 1 and, once again, underwent a rapid diagnostic test on October 3. The result was positive. She was swabbed on October 8 and the result came out positive on October 9. She is currently at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

* 1,040th case: a 34-year-old female resident of a gated community in Barangay Lumbia. She is a bank employee who was exposed to a non-Cagayan de Oro coronavirus-positive patient on October 1. She was swabbed on October 8 and the result came out positive on October 9. She is currently at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified four direct contacts of the woman.

* 1,041st case: a 35-year-old male local Authorized Person Outside Residence (Apor) residing in Barangay 26, who had a history of travel in Villanueva, Bukidnon and Misamis Oriental for work. She was swabbed on October 8 and the result came out positive. She is currently at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified one direct contact of the man.

* 1,042nd case: a 23-year-old male resident of Barangay 23. He had a sore throat on October 5 and experienced loss of sense of taste and smell on October 7. She was admitted in a private hospital on October 8 where she was swabbed and the result came out positive on October 9. She is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified three direct contacts of the man.

* 1,043rd case: a 27-year-old female local Apor residing in Barangay Patag, who was exposed to the 926th case. She is an employee of a private hospital. Her last day of exposure was on September 28.

The woman had body malaise, fever and flu-like symptoms on October 4 and was admitted in a private hospital on October 6. She is currently at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified five direct contacts of the woman.

* 1,044th case: a 34-year-old male local Apor, a healthcare worker, residing in Barangay Macasandig. She is a nurse in a private hospital. She attended a gathering in Barangay Camaman-an on September 27. She had an onset of fever, joint pains and muscle pain on October 5. She was admitted in the private hospital on October 8.

The City Health Office identified four direct contacts of the man.

* 1,045th case: a 52-year-old male resident of Barangay Macabalan. He went to a private hospital and was diagnosed with kidney problem. He was swabbed on October 10 and tested positive. He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

* 1,046th case: a 63-year-old female resident of Barangay Macasandig, who was exposed to her brother-in-law, the 801st case. She attended a gathering on September 20. She had an onset of cough on October 4 and was admitted in a private hospital due to diarrhea and cough on October 9. She was transferred to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC).

The City Health Office identified 12 close contacts of the woman.

* 1,047th case: a 36-year-old female who was exposed to her co-worker, the 999th case. Her last day of exposure was on September 30. She had flu-like symptoms and colds on October 6. Her last day of duty was on October 7 and started working from home on October 8. She was swabbed on October 9 and tested positive on October 10.

The City Health Office identified four household contacts and 10 workplace contacts of the woman.

* 1,048th case: a 22-year-old female resident of Barangay Macabalan, who was exposed to the 678th case. She was brought to the city isolation unit on September 21. She was swabbed on October 10 and tested positive. She is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified two close contacts of the woman.

* 1,049th case: a 39-year-old female, who was exposed to her Covid-positive co-worker. Her last day of exposure was on September 29. She had colds on October 2 and experienced loss of sense of smell on October 5. She was admitted in a private hospital on October 10. She is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified three close contacts of the woman.

* 1,050th case: a 72-year-old female resident of Barangay Camaman-an, who was exposed to the 999th case. She is the mother of the 999th case. Her last day of exposure was on October 4. She had an onset of cough and sore throat and her comorbidities include kidney and heart problems. She is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified one close contact of the woman.

* 1,051st case: a 47-year-old businessman residing in a gated community Barangay Balulang. He visited a farm in Bukidnon from September 28 to October 1, He had a fever on October 3 and was admitted in a private hospital on October 6. He is currently at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified three household contacts of the man.

* 1,052nd case: a 43-year-old male resident of Barangay Gusa. He was swabbed on October 9 and the result came out positive on October 10. He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

* 1,053rd case: a 44-year-old male resident of Barangay Carmen, who works as a maintenance man in a private company. His last day of duty was on September 30. He had headache on October 4.

* 1,054th case: a 52-year-old male resident of Barangay Puntod. He had cough on October 1 and dizziness on October 8. He was admitted at the NMMC where he was swabbed and tested positive.

The City Health Office identified three household contacts and one workplace contact of the man.

* 1,055th case: a 36-year-old male resident of Barangay Gusa, who is a construction worker. He had cough on October 7 and attended a gathering on October 8. He has shortness of breath on October 10. He is currently admitted at the NMMC.

* 1,056th case: a 46-year-old male resident of Barangay 29. He had fever on September 30 and cough on October 3. He was swabbed on October 6 and the result came out positive on October 9.

* 1,057th case: a 29-year-old male resident of Barangay Macabalan, who is an employee of a big company. He was isolated in a private hospital. He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

* 1,058th case: a two-year-old male who was exposed to his mother, the 862nd case. He was brought to the city isolation unit on September 29.

* 1,059th case: a 59-year-old female resident of Barangay Camaman-an, who was exposed to her husbad, the 766th case. Her last day of exposure was on September 26.

The City Health Office identified two direct contact of the woman.

* 1,060th case: a 13-year-old female resident of Barangay Cugman, who was exposed to the 871st case. Her last day of exposure was on September 27. She was brought to the city isolation unit on September 29. She is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

* 1,061st case: a 34-year-old female resident of Barangay Agusan, who was exposed to her husband, the 915th case. Her last day of exposure was on October 1. She was brought to the city isolation unit on October 7 and is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified one direct contact of the woman.

* 1,062nd case: an 85-year-old female, who was exposed to her husband, the 878th case. Her last day of exposure was on October 1. She was brought to the city isolation unit on October 7 and is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

* 1,063rd case: a 42-year-old male local Apor, a healthcare worker, residing in Barangay Camaman-an. He is a nurse in the Department of Health (DOH). His last day of duty was on September 30. He had an onset of flu-like symptoms on October 4 and was isolated in the city isolation unit on October 7. He is currently at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified five household contacts and three workplace contacts of the man.

* 1,064th case: a 38-year-old female local Apor residing in Barangay Carmen. He had an onset of cough and loss of sense of taste and smell on October 3. He was isolated in the city isolation unit on October 8.

* 1,065th case: a 26-year-old PDL from Barangay Cugman who was detained at the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on September 18. He was transferred to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) holding area on September 28. He was swabbed on October 6 and the result came out positive on October 10. He is currently at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility in the city jail.

* 1,066th case: a 24-year-old male PDL from Barangay Bugo. He was detained in Police Station 6 on September 23 and was transferred to the BJMP holding area on September 28, He was swabbed on October 6 and the result came out positive on October 10. He is currently at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility in the city jail.

* 1,067th case: a 37-year-old PDL from Barangay Lumbia. He was detained in Police Station 6 and was transferred to the BJMP holding area on September 29. He was swabbed on October 6 and the result came out positive on October 10. He is currently at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility in the city jail.

* 1,068th case: a 16-year-old male PDL from Barangay Bugo. He was detained in Puerto Police Station in February. He was transferred to the BJMP city jail on February 27. He was transferred in the holding area on October 1 for swabbing. He was swabbed on October 6 and the result came out positive on October 10. He is currently at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility in the city jail.

Cagayan de Oro City has 324 active cases, 25 of whom are admitted at the NMMC, 291 are outpatients, and eight are ROFs/LSIs.
