26 more persons infected with coronavirus in Cagayan de Oro

TWENTY-THREE residents and three persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) in Cagayan de Oro have tested positive for Sars-CoV-2, bringing the total number of confirmed coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in the city to 1,122.

Of the 23 new local cases, eight are local authorized persons outside residence (Apors) and eight are close contacts of previously confirmed cases, Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said.

The profiles of the new Covid-19 cases in Cagayan de Oro City are the following:

1,097th case: a 31-year-old male PDL from Barangay Macabalan, who was detained at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) city jail. He is a jail trustee in charge of delivering food to the male holding area in the city jail. He was swabbed on October 8 and tested positive.

The man is currently at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility in the city jail.

1,098th case: a 51-year-old male PDL from Barangay Iponan, who was detained in July in Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA). He was transferred to the BJMP holding area on July 15. He is a jail trustee. He was swabbed on October 8 and the result came out positive on October 11.

The man is currently at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility in the city jail.

1,099th case: a 51-year-old male PDL from Barangay Camaman-an, who was detained in Police Station 2 in December 2016. He was transferred to the city jail in the same period. He is a jail trustee. He was swabbed on October 8 and the result came out positive on October 12.

The man is currently at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility in the city jail.

1,100th case: a 34-year-old male local Apor residing in Barangay Gusa, who is a jail guard assigned in the city jail. His last day of exposure and duty was on October 7. He was swabbed on October 8 and the result came out positive on October 11.

The City Health Office identified four close contacts of the man.

1,101st case: a 37-year-old male local Apor, a policeman in Camp Alagar, residing in Barangay Indahag. His last day of exposure was on October 1. He had body malaise on October 3 and experienced loss of sense of smell on October 7. He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified 16 direct contacts of the man.

1,102nd case: a 50-year-old male local Apor, a policeman, who was exposed to a Covid-positive case from Initao, Misamis Oriental. He was swabbed on October 11 and the result came out positive on October 13.

1,103rd case: a 33-year-old female local Apor, a healthcare worker in the Department of Health (DOH), who was exposed to a Covid-positive non-CDO patient. Her last day of exposure was on September 24. She had flu-like symptoms on September 26. Her last day of duty was on September 28.

The City Health Office identified three direct contacts of the woman, all of them tested negative.

1,104th case: a 24-year-old male resident of Barangay Carmen. He had flu-like symptoms and diarrhea on September 30. He was swabbed in a private hospital and the result came out positive on October 12. He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified six direct contacts of the man.

1,105th case: a 16-year-old female resident of Barangay Tablon, who was exposed to her father, the 865th case. Her last day of exposure was on September 26 and underwent home quarantine on September 27. She experienced loss of sense of taste and smell. She is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified two close contacts of the young lady.

1,106th case: a 15-year-old female resident of Barangay Bugo, who was exposed to her mother, the 880th case. She has cough and colds on September 24. Her last day of exposure was on October 2. She was brought to the city isolation unit on October 10. She is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified seven close contacts of the young lady.

1,107th case: a 23-year-old female resident of Barangay Bugo, who was exposed to the 880th case. She is the daughter of the 880th case. She is working as an employee of a private company.

The woman had complaints on September 24 and underwent quarantine on September 25. Her last day of exposure was on October 2. She is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

1,108th case: a 32-year-old female resident of Barangay Carmen, who was exposed to a Covid-positive non-CDO resident. Her last day of exposure was on October 5. She was brought to the city isolation unit on October 10. She is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified one direct contact of the woman.

1,109th case: a 76-year-old male resident of Barangay 18, who was exposed to his wife, the 977th case. His last day of exposure was on October 1. He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

1,110th case: an 18-year-old female resident of Barangay 18, who was exposed to the 977th case. She is the granddaughter of the 977th case. She was brought to the city isolation unit on October 10. She is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

1,111th case: a 19-year-old female resident of Barangay 18, who was exposed to the 977th case. She is the granddaughter of the 977th case. She was brought to the city isolation unit on October 10. She is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

1,112th case: a 19-year-old female resident of Barangay Iponan, who was exposed to her co-worker, the 972nd case. She had body malaise on October 5 and underwent home quarantine on October 6. She is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified three direct contacts of the young woman.

1,113th case: a 37-year-old female resident of Barangay Canitoan, who works as a sales agent. She was swabbed as an outpatient in a private testing facility as a requirement for her work. She has a history of travel to Iligan City, Bukidnon and Butuan City. She is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

1,114th case: a 25-year-old female resident of Barangay Camaman-an, who works as a bank teller. She had a cough on October 7. Her last day of duty was on October 7. She is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

1,115th case: a 47-year-old male local Apor, an employee at the Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC). He had a cough on October 5. His last day of exposure was on October 9. He is currently at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified eight direct contacts of the man.

1,116th case: a 26-year-old female local Apor residing in Barangay Carmen, who was exposed to her co-worker, the 1,015th case. Her last day of exposure was on October 7. She attended a gathering in a beach resort on October 9 and was in an outing to a municipality in Misamis Oriental on October 10. She had colds on October 11.

The City Health Office identified eight close contacts of the woman.

1,117th case: a 38-year-old female local Apor, an employee at the NMMC, residing in Barangay Pagatpat, who was exposed to her husband, the 1,076th case. Her last day of duty was on October 10 and her last day of exposure was on October 12. She is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified seven close contacts of the woman.

1,118th case: a 24-year-old female local Apor, a healthcare worker, residing in Barangay Canitoan, who works as a nurse at the NMMC. Her last day of duty was on October 10. She had a fever and loss of sense of smell on October 11.

The City Health Office identified two close contacts of the woman.

1,119th case: a 46-year-old male resident of Barangay Nazareth. He had complaints on October 9. He showed symptoms on October 11 and sought medical consultation in a private hospital. He was referred to the NMMC where he was swabbed and tested positive. He is currently admitted at the NMMC.

The City Health Office identified two direct contacts of the man.

1,120th case: a 64-year-old male resident of Barangay Bugo. He experienced loss of sense of taste on October 1. He was swabbed at the NMMC and tested positive on October 13.

The City Health Office identified one direct contact of the man.

1,121st case: a 65-year-old female resident of Barangay Lapasan. She had shortness of breath on October 11 and was brought to the NMMC. She died on the same day.

The City Health Office identified two close contacts of the woman.

1,122nd case: a 47-year-old male resident of Barangay Balulang. He had cough on October 8 and sought medical consultation at the JR Borja General Hospital on October 9. He was admitted to the said hospital on October 10. He was swabbed and tested positive.

However, the man died around 11 p.m. on October 11. His remains were buried at the Bolonsori Cemetery around 6 a.m. on October 12.

The City Health Office identified six close contacts of the man.

Cagayan de Oro has 350 active cases, 29 of whom are admitted to the NMMC, 315 are outpatients and six are returning overseas Filipino workers/locally stranded individuals.

The total number of Covid-19 recoveries is at 722 and deaths at 50.
