FIVE people were arrested while some P102,000 worth of suspected shabu were seized in an anti-drug operation in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay, the police reported Wednesday, October 14, 2020.
Police Captain Edwin Duco, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the arrested suspects as Benhar Ahiya Mohammad, 20; Nijar Ahiya Mohammad, 22; Hapedtandual Abualas, 27; Mohammad Nijam Cuartocruz Omar, 26; and Ebrahim Ahiya Bual.
Duco said the suspects were arrested in a buy-bust operation around 5:20 p.m. Tuesday in Purok Gemelina Tenan village, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay.
The joint team of police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency operatives recovered from the suspects some P102,000 worth of suspected shabu, illegal drug paraphernalia and P13,500 boodle money topped with one P500 genuine bill.
He said charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the suspects who were detained. (SunStar Zamboanga)
