VARIOUS webinars will be hosted by the Philippine Retailers Association (PRA)-Cebu Chapter to orient and guide businesses, retailers and consumers in the new normal.
Highly successful was the recent webinar “Rethinking our Business and Repurposing our Facilities for Survival and Sustenance,” conducted by the Great Cebu Sale (GCS) last Sept. 28 and 29. Some 60 attendees will attest to that.
Last Oct 12 and 13, there was another such webinar dubbed “Redefining and Optimizing the Essential Components of Retail in these Most Challenging Times.”
However, you can still catch up, as there’s one scheduled on Oct. 19 and 20 entitled “#Leading by Emotional Intelligence with Stressed-out Workforce and Anxious Guests and Customers.” According to Raki Urbina, co-chairperson of GCS, they have on tab many more during the sales period, to stimulate interest.
Now, let’s meet the rockstar trainer and resource speaker of the Philippines: Francisco Dela Cruz, who hails from Bocaue, Bulacan and wears many hats.
Aside from being a trainer, he is likewise a retailer, leader, hotelier, influencer and a guest-and-customer experience champion. A certified leader by Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) in London, he is also a certified competency developer by the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM) in Canada. Of his total 35 years work experience, 17 were spent abroad, in different countries in the Middle East (ME), where among varied roles, he used to be the hospitality training manager of Sheraton Hotel—Kuwait, a five-star chain. Furthermore, at the Alshaya Retail Group in the ME, he held the position of retail training manager, operating in 19 countries with more than 2,500 stores
On the local scene, he was connected with a number of SM Stores as branch manager and became budget and planning analyst at Philippine National Oil Co.
In closing, Camille Aldeguer, chairperson of the GCS, mentioned it would be tapping event managers and wedding planners to collaborate with hotels, resorts and restaurants, for lively functions and gatherings!
