3 LSIs, 14 others new Covid-19 cases in Cagayan de Oro

FOURTEEN residents and three locally stranded individuals (LSIs) have tested positive for the novel coronavirus, bringing the total number of Covid-19 cases in Cagayan de Oro to 1,139.

Of the 14 new local cases, four are authorized persons outside residence (Apors) and four are close contacts of previously confirmed cases, Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said.

The profiles of the new Covid-19 cases in Cagayan de Oro City are the following:

* 1,123rd case: a 64-year-old female LSI resident of Barangay FS Catanico. She arrived in Cagayan de Oro via sea travel on September 28. She was swabbed on October 7 and the result came out positive on October 10. She is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified two direct contacts of the woman.

* 1,124th case: an eight-year-old female LSI resident of Barangay FS Catanico. She is the daughter of the 1,123rd case. She arrived in Cagayan de Oro via sea travel on September 28. She is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

* 1,125th case: a 43-year-old male LSI from Davao and a resident of Barangay Camaman-an. He is a technician. He traveled to Davao on October 1 and went back to Cagayan de Oro on October 6. He was swabbed on October 12 and the result came out positive on October 13. He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

* 1,126th case: a 47-year-old female local Apor, a healthcare worker at the Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC), residing in Barangay 18, who is assigned at the EREID ward in the NMMC. Her last day of duty was on October 3. She was swabbed on October 7 and the result came out positive on October 12. She is currently at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

* 1,127th case: a 23-year-old female local Apor, a healthcare worker, residing in Barangay 40. She is a nurse in a private hospital. Her last day of duty was on October 7. She had a fever on October 8 and underwent check up in the private hospital on October 9. She is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified three direct contacts of the woman.

* 1,128th case: a 40-year-old male resident of Barangay Gusa who was exposed to his co-worker, the 912th case. He is a government employee. He had a fever on September 28 and underwent home quarantine on October 5. He was brought to the city isolation unit on October 8.

The City Health Office identified seven direct contacts of the man.

* 1,129th case: a 24-year-old male resident of Barangay 15, who was exposed to his mother, the 628th case. His second swab was on October 11 and the result came out positive on October 13. He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified three direct contacts of the man.

* 1,130th case: a 42-year-old male local Apor, a healthcare worker, residing in a gated community in Barangay Balulang, who works as a doctor in JR Borja General Hospital. He traveled to Claveria on October 10 and was on duty at the JR Borja General Hospital on the evening of the same day. He was off duty on October 12 and had flu-like symptoms. He is currently at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified four direct contacts of the man.

* 1,131st case: a 30-year-old female local Apor residing in Barangay Iponan, who works as an assistant manager of a private company. She was on her maternity leave on October 2. She was admitted in a private hospital on October 9 and was swabbed due to a requirement for OB clearance. The result was invalid.

The woman was swabbed again on October 12 and the result came out positive on October 13. She is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified three direct contacts of the woman.

* 1,132nd case: a 25-year-old female resident of Barangay Carmen who works as a private employee. She attended an "inom-inom" with her barkada on October 9 and a sleepover with friends on October 10. Her last day of duty was on October 11. She is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified one household contact and nine close contacts of the woman.

* 1,133rd case: a 24-year-old female resident of Barangay Macasandig who is a private employee. She had a fever on October 6 and had a cough and loss of sense of smell on October 9. She experienced shortness of breath on October 11 and sought medical consultation at the JR Borja General Hospital. She is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified five direct contacts and 11 general contacts of the woman.

* 1,134th case: a 62-year-old male resident of Barangay Bugo who is a private employee. He attended a vigil on October 8. He attended a meeting in Divisora on October 9. He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified five direct contacts of the man.

* 1,135th case: a 42-year-old female resident of Barangay Carmen, who is a government employee in a government agency. Her last day of duty was on October 2. She had a fever, colds and cough on October 4 and went to a private hospital for consultation on October 6. She is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified four direct household contacts of the woman.

* 1,136th case: a 52-year-old female resident of Barangay Balulang. She experienced loss of appetite on October 5. She collapsed in her home on October 12. He was swabbed at the NMMC and the result came out positive around 10 a.m. of October 13.

However, the woman died in the early morning of the same day. Her remains were cremated around noon of the same day.

* 1,137th case: a 24-year-old male resident of Barangay Bugo who works as an employee of a private company. He was exposed to his mother, the 917th case. His last day of exposure was on September 25 and his last day of duty was on September 28. He underwent home quarantine on September 29. He was swabbed on October 13 and tested positive. He is currently at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified three direct contacts of the man.

* 1,138th case: a 43-year-old female resident of Barangay 1 who was exposed to the 906th case. She is the niece of the 906th case. Her last day of exposure was on October 4. She was brought to the city isolation unit on October 9. He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified five direct contacts of the woman.

* 1,139th case: a 62-year-old male resident of Barangay Puntod. He had complaints on October 10 and went to the NMMC for a checkup. He was swabbed on October 12 and the result came out positive. He is currently at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified 11 household contacts of the man.

Cagayan de Oro has 359 active cases, 30 of whom are admitted at the NMMC, 320 are outpatients, and nine are ROFs/LSIs.
