Beta Sigma-USC chapter marks 55th year with donations to Little Lamb Center

THE Little Lamb Center, home for abandoned children with disabilities located in Barangay Sawang Calero, Cebu City, is again this year’s beneficiary of the Beta Sigma Fraternity-University of San Carlos (USC) chapter’s 55th anniversary celebration.

Currently, the center has 28 children aged between five to 25 years old who need special care.

Volunteers take care of the children’s upkeep and they rely solely on donations.

However, amid the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic, the center’s kindhearted benefactors could not sustain their donations as they may be facing hard times themselves.

To help Little Lamb Center, the Beta Sigma Fraternity-USC chapter has again chosen it to be the beneficiary for the celebration of the fraternity’s 55th founding anniversary.

For the past five years, Beta Sigma had chosen the Little Lamb Center as its beneficiary in its “Outreach Drive-He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother.”

This year, three batches of donations have been scheduled to be turned over to the center. The first two donations were delivered on Aug. 24 and Sept. 24. The third batch of donations will be turned over on Oct. 24.

The Beta Sigma Fraternity, the brotherhood of scholars, has been silently working in the school and community to help protect the environment and to take care of their fellow men.

In Cebu, fraternity members have been involved in various community outreach activities such as medical missions (including circumcision and blood donation), clean-up drives, tree planting activities and disaster-related relief projects.
