FIFTY-FOUR wanted individuals were arrested by personnel of the Police Regional Office-Cordillera (Procor) in a 12-day operation.
La Trinidad, Benguet’s top most wanted person (TMWP), Klivh Iram Dumangeng Abidal, 22, a resident of Irisan, Baguio City, was nabbed in Lamut, Beckel, La Trinidad.
Abidal has been wanted for violation of the Anti-Violence against Women and their Children Act of 2004 (Republic Act 9262) and Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act (RA 7610) with a recommended bail bond of P80,000 and P36,000, respectively.
Giovanni Malambut Hadji Amin, 45, number 1 TMWP in Baguio City, was collared in Bakakeng Sur for qualified trafficking in person and acts of lasciviousness.
Ryan Chozas Cortez, 36, of Bakakeng Sur, number 8 TMWP in Baguio, was also captured in Tadiangan, Tuba, Benguet for three counts of rape through sexual assault.
In Benguet, two most wanted persons were also handcuffed.
Lucibar Togon Magno, 66, number 8 TMWP of Panangkiton, Libertad, Antique, was arrested in Western, Buyagan, La Trinidad on October 8, while Raymund Campos Rullan, 34, porter, number 9 TMWP and native of Makabato, Aringay, La Union, was caught in his residence in Tawang, La Trinidad on October 5.
Magno was arrested for violating RA 7610 with a bail bond of P200,000, while Rullan has been wanted for violation of RA 9262 with a bail bond of P78,000.
Police Brigadier General R’win Pagkalinawan, Procor director, said police will continue their operation against criminals despite the Covid-19 pandemic.
“We are continuously intensifying our operations against persons wanted by the law aside from conducting our public safety operations in response to the health crisis,” Pagkalinawan said.
From October 1-12, 42 other wanted criminals were also arrested, with the Baguio City Police Office having the most number of arrest with 18, followed by Benguet Police Provincial Office with 13 arrest, Abra Police Provincial Office with eight, Ifugao and Kalinga Police Provincial Office with five each, Apayao with three, and Mountain Province having no arrests.
