Replaced bridge at Lacson Extension almost finished

BACOLOD City Evelio Leonardia led the final inspection on the rehabilitation of the bridge at Lacson Extension recently.

This bridge located along Lacson Extension is near the Alijis National Highway, and its original two lanes were expanded into four lanes.

“Given the volume of cars using this road, this will surely improve traffic flow as not only that the bridge is now four lanes, but even the road up to Magsaysay Avenue was also widened into 4 lanes,” Leonardia said.

The project is now 93-percent complete and will be fully finished in October, according to Acting City Engineer Aladino Agbones, who accompanied the mayor in inspecting the project.

The rehabilitation project – with a budget of close to P70 million – includes road widening, bridge replacement, drainage installation and flood control mitigation.

It is funded from the loan of the City Government with the Development Bank of the Philippines.

The private contractor for the project is Silver Dragon Construction, which won the public bidding. (PR)
