28 residents in Oro test positive for novel coronavirus

THE Cagayan de Oro Health Office has recorded 28 new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases, all of which are local cases, epidemiologist Dr. Joselito Retuya reported Saturday, October 17.

This brought the total number of confirmed coronavirus infections in the city to 1,212.

The profiles of the new Covid-19 cases in Cagayan de Oro City are the following:

1,185th case: a 37-year-old female local authorized person outside residence (Apor), a resident of Barangay Dansolihon, who was exposed to her co-worker, the 1,164th case. She is a healthcare worker at the Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC). Her last day of exposure and duty was on October 9. She was swabbed on October 13 and the result came out positive on October 15. She is currently at the DOH isolation facility.

The City Health Office identified five direct contacts of the woman.

1,186th case: a 33-year-old male local Apor, who was exposed to the 1,164th case. He works as a nurse at the NMMC. His last day of exposure was on October 9 and his last day of duty was on October 12. He is currently at the DOH isolation facility.

The City Health Office identified one direct contacts of the man.

1,187th case: a 30-year-old female local Apor residing in Barangay Lapasan, who was exposed to her co-worker, the 1,115th case. She is a healthcare worker at the NMMC. Her last day of exposure was on October 11. She had a fever and colds on October 13. She is pregnant and is currently at the DOH isolation facility.

The City Health Office identified five household contacts of the woman.

1,188th case: a 37-year-old female local Apor residing in Barangay Cugman, who was exposed to her co-worker, the 1,117th case. She is a social worker at the NMMC. Her last day of exposure was on October 5 and her last day of duty was on October 12. She is currently at the DOH isolation facility.

The City Health Office identified 13 direct contacts of the woman.

1,189th case: a 41-year-old female resident of Barangay Patag, who was exposed to her husband, the 989th case. Her last day of exposure was on September 30. She underwent home quarantine on October 3 and was brought to the city isolation unit on October 10. She is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified two close contacts, all of whom tested positive for Covid-19.

1,190th case: a 26-year-old male resident of Barangay Consolacion, who was exposed to the 1,006th case. He is the brother of the 1,006th case. He has a history of travel to Bukidnon on September 26. He was back in Cagayan de Oro on September 28. He attended a gathering on October 3. He was brought to the city isolation unit on October 10. He is currently at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified six close contacts of the man.

1,191st case: the sister-in-law of the 1,006th case. Her last day of exposure was on September 29. She was brought to the city isolation unit on October 10. She was swabbed on October 12 and the result was positive. She is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

1,192nd case: a 27-year-old male healthcare worker residing in Barangay Pinitikan, who was exposed to the 1,116th case. He works as a medtech at the NMMC. His last day of exposure was on October 10. He underwent home quarantine on October 13. He is currently at the DOH isolation facility.

The City Health Office identified four close contacts of the man.

1,193rd case: a 53-year-old female resident of Barangay Lapasan. She had epigastric pain on October 13 and was admitted to a private hospital. She was swabbed on October 14 and the result came out positive on October 16.

1,194th case: a 48-year-old male resident of a gated community in Barangay Lumbia. He had a fever on October 2 and stomach ache on October 9. He experienced weakness of lower extremities on October 13 and was admitted to a private hospital on October 14.

1,195th case: a 76-year-old female resident of Barangay 26. She had a cough and fever on October 12 and experienced difficulty in breathing on October 14. She was brought to a private hospital on October 14, however, she was declared dead arrival around 3 p.m. Her body was buried on the same day.

According to Retuya, she was swabbed postmortem and the result came out positive.

The City Health Office identified six household contacts and six general contacts of the woman.

1,196th case: a 22-year-old female resident of Barangay 22, who was exposed to her co-worker, the 1,042nd case. Her last day of exposure was on October 7 and her last day of duty was on October 9. She was admitted to a private hospital on October 15.

The City Health Office identified two close contacts, who tested positive for the virus, and five worksite contacts of the woman.

1,197th case: a 26-year-old male local Apor residing in Barangay Dansolihon. He works in a private institution. He was swabbed on October 13 and the result came out positive.

The City Health Office identified six direct contacts of the man.

1,198th case: a 33-year-old male resident of Barangay Kauswagan. He had an onset of fever on October 6. His last day of duty was on October 11. He experienced loss of sense of smell on October 12. He underwent home quarantine on October 13.

The City Health Office identified four household contacts of the man.

1,199th case: a 78-year-old male resident of Barangay Patag. He went to a private diagnostic center for a check up on October 10. He had a fever on October 14 and was admitted to a private hospital on the same day.

The City Health Office identified nine direct contacts of the man.

1,200th case: a 34-year-old male resident of Barangay Kauswagan. He works in a private company. His last day of duty was on October 10. He experienced throat discomfort, cough, body weakness, headache and loss of sense of smell and taste. He was admitted to a private hospital on October 14.

The City Health Office identified four direct contacts of the man.

1,201st case: a 40-year-old female resident of Barangay Macasandig. She had a fever on October 5 and cough and colds on October 6. She was swabbed on October 14 and the result came out positive. He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified two close contacts of the woman.

1,202nd case: a 67-year-old female resident of Barangay Iponan. She had a fever and cough on October 10. She was admitted to a private hospital on October 14. She is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified 10 close contacts of the woman.

1,203rd case: a 35-year-old male resident of Barangay Bulua. He had a fever on October 12 and cough on October 13. He was admitted to a private hospital on October 14. He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified six direct contacts of the man.

1,204th case: a 63-year-old male resident of Barangay Iponan. He had a cough on October 10. He was admitted to a private hospital on October 14. He was swabbed on October 15 and the result came out positive.

The City Health Office identified 10 direct contacts of the man.

1,205th case: a 27-year-old female local Apor, a healthcare worker, residing in Barangay 22. She works as a midwife at the NMMC. Her last day of duty was on October 8. She had colds on October 12. She is currently at the DOH isolation facility.

The City Health Office identified nine household contacts of the woman.

1,206th case: a 50-year-old female resident of Barangay Kauswagan. She had a cough on October 9 and difficulty in breathing on October 13. She was admitted to the NMMC on October 15.

The City Health Office identified one direct contact of the woman.

1,207th case: a 24-year-old female local Apor, a healthcare worker, residing in Barangay Gusa. She was exposed to her co-worker, the 1,127th case. She works as a nurse in a private hospital. Her last day of exposure was on October 8. She had a cough on October 9 and experienced loss of sense of smell and taste on October 11. She is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified one household contact and seven worksite contacts of the woman.

1,208th case: a 30-year-old male local Apor, a healthcare worker, residing in Barangay Cugman. He works as a nurse at the JR Borja General Hospital. He was swabbed on October 13 and the result came out positive. He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

1,209th case: a 44-year-old female local Apor, a healthcare worker, residing in a gated community in Barangay Balulang. She was exposed to her husband, the 1,130th case. She works as a doctor in the City Health Office. Her last day of exposure was on October 12. She underwent home quarantine on October 14. She is currently at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified 15 direct contacts of the woman.

1,210th case: an 11-year-old male resident of Barangay Balulang, who was exposed to the 1,130th case. His last day of exposure was on October 12. He underwent quarantine on October 14. He is currently at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

1,211th case: a 66-year-old male resident of Barangay 17. He had a cough on October 11 and fever on October 12. He was admitted to a private hospital on October 15. He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified 10 direct contacts of the man.

1,212th case: a 60-year-old male resident of Barangay Camaman-an. He was swabbed in a private testing laboratory as an outpatient. The result came out positive on October 16.

The City Health Office identified six close contacts of the man.

Cagayan de Oro has 383 active cases, 31 of whom were admitted to the NMMC, 344 are outpatients, and eight are ROFs/LSIs.

The city also registered 33 new recoveries, of which 20 are local cases, 11 are local Apors and two are locally stranded individuals.

This brought the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 775.

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city is now at 54.
