THE credibility of Canadian mystic Fr. Michel Rodrigue is at stake after he wrote his supporters on March 26, 2020 the following:
“My dear people of God, we are now passing a test. The great events of purification will begin this fall. Be ready with the Rosary to disarm Satan and to protect our people. Make sure that you are in the state of grace by having made your general confession to a Catholic priest. The spiritual battle will begin. Remember these words: the month of the rosary will see great things.”
In this light, it is unfortunate that in many parts of the world, including Pampanga, Covid-19 has pushed many priests away from Confession if not confessionals. This, however, is understandable since we do not want priests to contract and die from the virulent virus as they are most needed in these times. But there’s the prayer that archdioceses come up with Confession measures that can minimize the virus threat. For example, in Caloocan City, Bishop Pablo Virgilio David told parishioners they could write down their sins, start the Confession with the statement “Bless me father, for I have sinned,” pass on the list of sins to the priest who then can opt to give counsel before imposing penance and rendering absolution to the penitent.
Pope Francis, at the outset of the Covid-19 pandemic, said a perfect contrition would suffice for forgiveness of sins but still with the condition that the sins are confessed as soon as Confession is available.
Now that Confession has become a temporarily vanished species, however, I realize and miss its value. It’s a sacrament that gives me more confidence of the forgiveness of sins, regardless of whether the confessor is careless and incompetent. It could be a psychological disposition peculiar to me. On second thoughts, it could be a spiritual panacea divinely designed for human nature.
Even as Covid-19 is surging again in the West, Philippine news is talking about relaxing lockdowns while President Duterte pins hopes for “normalcy” on foreign vaccines. The pandemic, peculiar to our generation, has changed the way our world turns. Yet, there is sweeping sentiment that, over time, the world would return to how it has been before the virus.
Is Covid-19 really that ephemeral?
In her message to Medjugorje visionary Marija, the Blessed Mother said last August 25 when Covid-19 was still surging all over: “Dear children! This is a time of grace. I am with you and anew am calling you, little children: return to God and to prayer until prayer will be a joy for you.
Little children, you do not have a future or peace until your life begins with a personal conversion and a change to the good. Evil will cease and peace will begin to reign in your hearts and in the world. Therefore, little children, pray, pray, pray. I am with you and intercede before my Son Jesus for each of you. Thank you for having responded to my call.”
The fact that the surging Covid-19 was covered in the message as being in the “time of grace” has dire implications. In this column, I have shared such dire prophecies being coursed through modern-day mystics. It has been said that prophecies that really terrify are last ditch efforts of the Divine to save souls from eternal damnation.
Our wisest option is to do as we are counseled through the mystics and pray, pray, pray, totis viribus.
Indeed, the explosion of warnings continue through mystics. On May 13, 2020, Our Queen of the Rosary and of Peace told Edson Glauber:
“Peace to your heart! My son, pray much, because the world greatly needs prayer, as it is about to be punished terribly by the justice of God. Humanity has reached the edge of the abyss and many today are already falling into it, being taken by demons to hell, because they did not live united to God, but doubted the presence of the Lord in the Eucharist: they no longer believed in His holy words, rejecting his Law Divine, transforming the House of God into a den of thieves and terrible offences.
“My son, never as today has Satan gained so much power and space to act within the Church of my Divine Son. He is achieving his evil intent to destroy faith in many souls, leading them to the denial of God and eternal truths, making them accept his deadly poison of errors and lies, which lead to a life without God, far from his divine love.
“Truth and eternal life are only found in God, in my Son Jesus Christ. Jesus is greatly offended. His Divine Justice wishes to punish sinners because of their indifference and contempt for me, your Immaculate Mother. My son, make reparation for the terrible sins committed against me. These sins are drawing terrible punishments and scourges to sinners. The Justice of my Divine Son can no longer endure these sinners and their ingratitude.
“The Angel of the Lord has the fiery sword raised, and with it he wishes to strike the whole world more intensely—all those children of mine who did not want to repent, correcting themselves for their sins, nor to make reparations and sacrifices.
“Within your houses, often pray the prayer that the Angel of Peace taught my shepherd children, prostrating themselves with their faces to the ground, pleading God’s forgiveness for themselves and for sinners in the whole world.** The outer signs of prayer and its radiance are disappearing, making way for the dense clouds of darkness and sin which are enveloping the world that has left God aside.
“The Church, Spouse of my Divine Son, the Spotless Lamb, is living her passion, the hours of darkness and neglect, being stripped of her garments and her splendor, through the fault of those who ought to love her, honor her and defend her, making way for a false church without light, without life and without direction, where doubts and uncertainties prevail over all truth, reducing faith to nothing, to mere human and worldly concepts that do not convert and which save no one .
“My son, my Heart suffers because of everything that the Church of My Son is going through and living. I am preoccupied and distressed because of everything that many of my children will have to suffer and endure through the fault of corrupt and faithless men who will lead them to the spiritual death of their souls and the road that leads them to the fire of hell.
“My Heart bleeds because of children and young people who have lost the candor of purity, destroying the virginity of their bodies and the innocence of their souls and their hearts. All of this has contributed to the increased strength and power of the Devil over the world. Many do not understand, and if they do not make an effort, they will never understand, in the world, the value of the prayers of virgin and pure souls. Close your eyes to all that is sinful and worldly, so that the fiery arrows of the infernal enemy would not pierce your souls. Be of God. Love the Lord. Offer him your prayers accompanied by the sweet perfume of your souls impregnated with purity, holiness and good intentions....”
