Metro Clark ICT launches webinar series on leadership

THE Metro Clark Information and Communications Technology Council (MCICTC), in collaboration with the Holy Angel University, launched on Friday, October 16, via video conferencing the leadership in the new normal webinar series.

The first episode was themed, “Resilience and Transformation and Sustainability: Foundations of Positive Organization.”

The webinar featured speakers GS Ahn, executive vice-president of AirCUVE Inc.; Tetsuya Nagao, president and chief executive officer of Yokohama Tire Philippines, Inc.; and Marvin Montes, director-sales head of Globe myBusiness.

Ahn shared the importance of security in the virtual world and how companies can transition to the next level of its cyber security. AirCUVE Inc. is a Korea-based company that specializes in Multi-factor Authentication and WiFi access authentication solutions.

For his part, Nagao shared “muda-dori,” a Japanese principle on waste elimination. According to him, cutting unnecessary expenses can help businesses survive the financial challenges brought about by the pandemic. Nagao also encouraged the companies to stay determined even though the world is still affected by a health crisis.

“As the economic leaders aspire for business continuity amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, I believe that the more the government ease quarantine restrictions, the more efforts we should put in to intensify compliance to health and safety protocols,” Nagao added.

Embracing digital transformation regardless of industry was the summary of Montes’ presentation. He also pointed out that companies can adopt the blended workplace model, which will allow them to improve and take their businesses to the next level.

Michael Shane, MCICTC president, shared his experience on how businesses can survive by utilizing the business continuity planning and underscored business readiness even in a pandemic.

“It was a great move by MCICT council to start the webinar series and get their members updated on the latest from the IT industry within the Metro Clark area,” said John Todorovic, executive coach at RLX Business Solutions and former president of Hotels and Restaurants Association in Pampanga. He was also the webinar’s moderator.

MCICTC has about 100 member-companies. It is a non-stock, non-profit organization of business and academic institutions that envisions to enabling the Metro Clark as the top global ICT destination.
