ANGELES City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. has announced an additional P15,000 incentive for city hall employees.

Lazatin made the announcement through his Memorandum No. 1198, Series of 2020 issued on October 15, 2020.

Lazatin said the release of the additional benefits for qualified city government employees, including the Collective Negotiation Agreement bonus worth P5,000; Productivity Enhancement Incentive worth P5,000; and the Service Recognition Incentive worth P5,000, will be on December 22, 2020.

A total of 1,316 employees in city hall – 980 permanent, 321 casual, and 15 contractual – are to receive the said additional P15,000 benefits, amounting to a total of P19,740,000.

Upon the instructions of Lazatin on October 5, 2020, the Local Finance Committee composed of the City Budget Office, City Accounting Office and City Treasurer’s Office immediately computed and prepared the year-end bonus of the city government employees.

Lazatin stressed the importance of releasing the bonus and other incentives for the year, as a means of ensuring that they have financial security amidst the pandemic.

“This is also in recognition of all the efforts being done by our hardworking and dedicated city government employees, despite the many challenges presented by the Covid-19 pandemic. We want them to still be able to celebrate this coming holiday season,” Lazatin added.

City hall employees – permanent, casual, and contractual – will also receive their tax-free year-end bonus, equivalent to one-month basic salary, amounting to a total of P32,542,594. Apart from this, the employees will also receive a P5,000 cash gift amounting to a total of P6,580,000.

Both the year-end bonus and cash gift incentive will be released for qualified government employees on November 16, 2020.

The grant of year-end bonus is in accordance with Republic Act (RA) No. 66861, as amended by RA No. 8441, and under the Department of Budget Management Circular No. 2016-4.

Contract of Service employees who are qualified for the P3,000 cash incentive, amounting to a total of P8,415,000, will receive theirs on December 10.
