PINOY pugs Mark Bernaldez and James Bacon scored knockout wins in Miami, while John Vincent Moralde got knocked out in Las Vegas on Sunday, Oct. 18, 2020.
Bernaldez dropped journeyman Julian Aristule three times en route to a third round knockout win at the Manual Artime Community Center Theater.
The 26-year-old Bernaldez bounced back from a loss to Albert Bell last July and improved to 21-4 with 15 knockouts. Aristule dropped to 34-14 with 17 knockouts.
In the same event, Bacon destroyed Gonzalo Dallera in two rounds in his US debut.
The 30-year-old Bacon, a native of Mandaue City, is now 24-4 with 16 knockouts, while Dallera dropped to 6-9 with four knockouts.
On the other hand, Moralde suffered a first round knockout defeat in the hands of Jose Enrique Vicas inside “The Bubble” of the MGM Grand in the undercard of the much-anticipated unification bout between Vasyl Lomachenko and Teofimo Lopez.
Vivas sent Moralde to the canvass with left to the head. Moralde survived the knockdown but was dropped again with body punches by Vivas. The referee stopped the fight in the 1:16 mark of the opening round.
Moralde dropped to 23-4 with 13 knockouts, while Vivas improved to 20-1 with 11 knockouts.
