By virtue of Republic Act No. 11469, otherwise known as “Bayanihan to Heal As One Act,” funds have been allocated to the DA for the National Rice Program amounting to P8.5 billion to support the implementation of RRP of DA Ahon-Lahat Pagkain Sapat (Alpas) Kontra Covid-19 Program, wherein the industry-wide provision of major farm inputs such as high-quality rice seeds and Urea fertilizers will be intensified.
This will cover provinces located in the following areas: Cordillera Administrative Region, Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, Mimaropa, Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, Davao Region, Soccsksargen, Caraga and Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, and supports around 800,000 rice farmers.
Eligible beneficiaries of the DA-RRP program can now claim their cash assistance through any M Lhuillier branch nationwide with their unique reference number or transaction code from DA, a valid government-issued identification card and the expected amount from today until December 15, 2020.
