P15,000 shabu seized in Barangay Singcang-Airport

AN ESTIMATED P15,000 worth of shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized in a drug bust by operatives of Police Station 8 in Purok Kahirup, Barangay Singcang-Airport, Bacolod City Sunday afternoon.

The operation also led to the arrest of Jomarie Edem, 26, of Purok Sicogon, Barangay Singcang-Airport.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), said Monday, October 19, that the suspect was arrested after he sold a sachet of shabu to a police undercover around 4:30 p.m.

Police recovered from Edem's possession three sachets of shabu weighing two grams, and the P500 marked money.

Pico said the suspect was identified as a street level individual. He was under surveillance for almost a month before his arrest.

The suspect is detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 8 and facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
