2 ex-rebels urge former NPA comrades to surrender

TWO New People's Army (NPA) surrenderers urged their former comrades in the rebel movement to follow them and come back to the folds of law.

In a statement through the Civil-Military Operations of the 62nd Infantry (Unifier) Battalion, 3ID, Philippine Army, Ka Dem said he surrendered because he cannot take anymore killing innocent civilians per order of his commander.

"They made me a criminal and my going back to the folds of law made my family happy," Ka Dem added.

Ka Dem and three other NPA members surrendered to the 62IB at Guihulngan City Task Force-Elcac on October 16, 2020 in Barangay Poblacion, Guihulgan City, Negros Oriental.

Ka Noky, for his part, urged his former comrades with the NPA or Yunit Militia to follow them at the folds of the real government.

"Do not be fooled by the propaganda movement that if we win the war, we will own the land and do not believe that you will be killed by the police and the military if you surrender. That's not true. You surrender because the E-CLIP program of the government truly gives benefits to us such as shelter and livelihood," he said.
