THE Cebu Provincial Tourism Office (PTO) announced that 52 hotels and tourism establishments in Cebu Province have been allowed to reopen and resume operations more than six months after these were shut down temporarily due to the lockdown against the coronavirus pandemic.

In an announcement on its Facebook page, the PTO said it has inspected the 52 establishments to ensure that minimum health safety measures are in place.

Hotels, resorts and other tourism establishments are required to install air purifiers, ultraviolet (UV) lights or lamps, and barriers on the front desks and in restaurants.

All visitors are also required to wear face masks and face shields as well as personal air purifiers to protect themselves against Sars-CoV-2, the virus that causes the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

The PTO warned that it will conduct surprise inspections to ensure that the 52 hotels and facilities remain compliant with minimum health protocols.

The Cebu Provincial Government has been gradually reopening the tourism industry since it shifted to modified general community quarantine (MGCQ), the most relaxed form of community quarantine.

Cebu is under MGCQ for the whole month of October.

Among those that were allowed to reopen are Circa La Playa Recreation Center in Minglanilla, Tatope Travel Lodge in Carcar, and Voda Krasna Beach Resort, Cartagena Beachwalk Resort and Antig Tingko Beach Resort in Alcoy.

In Balamban, the West 35 Eco Adventure Park and Sailor’s Cabin are now open.

Along Cebu’s southwestern seaboard, the following are open: ATV Adventure and Cafe Alfonso in Barili: Kasai Villages Resort, Moalboal Eco Lodge, Hale Manna Coastal Gardens, Kojie Guest House and several others in Moalboal; and Eskapo Verde, World Big 4 Resort and Banamboo in Badian.

Also down south are Carlita’s View Beach Resort, Kellock Seaview Apartelle, Ocean Bay Beach Resort and others in Dalaguete; Cebu Club Fort Med in Boljoon; Bluewater Sumilon, The Lighthouse Beach Resort, Malonzo Pension House, Stay and S. Resort, Aloha Lodging House and others in Oslob; and Santander Pebbles Beach Resort in Santander.

Up north, the following are open: Danasan Eco Adventure Park in Danao City, De Payag Inland Resort in Daanbantayan, and La Mer Beach Resort, Orongan Beach Resort and San Remigio Beach Club in San Remigio.

Guests must register and book rooms online through the Cebu Provincial Tourism Portal to be able to visit these facilities as well as the various tourist destinations in Cebu. (ANV)
