THE Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in Central Luzon was recently awarded with the bronze level recognition under the Program to Institutionalize Meritocracy and Excellence in Human Resource Management (Prime-HRM) from the Civil Service Commission (CSC).

The bronze award is a testament that DOLE-Central Luzon exhibited a standard operating procedure in its HRM processes that is documented and automated to a certain extent.

It can be recalled that the regional office was officially conferred at bronze level by the CSC on January 27, 2020, but was only awarded on September 30, 2020 because of Covid-19 pandemic.

During the rigorous assessment process, CSC looked into the agency's four core HRM processes, which include recruitment, selection and placement; performance management; learning and development; and rewards and recognition.

The award, bestowed by CSC-Central Luzon Director Rosalinda Tanaliga-Oliva, was received by Regional Director Ma. Zenaida Angara-Campita during a short ceremony held at DOLE regional office.

Campita said the agency is and has been one with the CSC in improving HRM systems and similarly, with its quest of pursuing public excellence. She added that the agency will continue to work on the silver level of Prime-HRM Maturity Level 3.

Meanwhile, Assistant Regional Director Geraldine Panlilio, in her message, acknowledged the efforts exerted to attain this award.

"This would not be possible if not for the assistance of CSC, and of course, with involvement of our people starting from our regional director, heads of divisions and field offices, and our other staff. I would also like to give special mention to the IMSD (Internal Management Service Division) then headed by Lorna Toldoya together with their current officer-in-charge Albert Manlapaz, as well as the indefatigable HRMO of Region 3, Josephine Castro and her staff, Cristina Bondoc," Panlilio said.

As a Prime-HRM Bronze Awardee, DOLE-Central Luzon is granted with privileges such as the authority to approve appointments (subject to post-audit), 20 percent discount on CSC-conducted conferences and trainings, and announcement of DOLE's programs/projects through the CSC website, among others.
