25 Barugo cops negative for coronavirus

AT LEAST 25 police personnel and two other frontliners in Barugo, Leyte have tested negative for coronavirus.

Their swab test results came out Tuesday, October 20, 2020.

Barugo Mayor Macel Avestruz thanked the public for their "prayers" and support to the police.

She also acknowledged the assistance from the Leyte Police Provincial Office, through Colonel Rodelio Samson, provincial director, and Lieutenant Colonel Ricky Reli, provincial director for operations, for sending additional policemen to their town.

The 2nd Leyte Provincial Mobile Force Company, along with other personnel from nearby police stations, served as augmentation force while the Barugo police personnel were under quarantine.

As of Monday, Barugo recorded 45 active cases of Covid-19.

The Police Regional Office (PRO)-Eastern Visayas said that 119 police personnel have tested positive for Covid-19, with 70 recoveries and 49 active cases as of October 20.

The PRO also sent an augmentation force to the Maasin City Police after 21 of its personnel were also under quarantine. (SunStar Philippines)
