CSG satellite office opens in Manila

THE Philippine National Police (PNP) Civil Security Group (CSG) has established a new satellite office in Manila to application for and renewal of security guard and firearms licenses more accessible to the public.

Major General Israel Dickson, CSG director, said the satellite office located inside the Manila Police Office offers the frontline services of the CSG, which is in charge of the Firearms and Explosives Office (FEO) and the Supervisory Office for Security and Investigative Agency (Sosia).

"We have to plan, do and act immediately to stay relevant and productive to continue our services throughout the pandemic and beyond while strictly adhering to the health protocols to stay healthy and safe as well," Dickson said during the opening of the facility on Wednesday, October 21, 2020.

PNP Chief Camilo Cascolan, who attended the opening ceremony, said the establishment of the new facility is also a part of efforts to decongest Camp Crame.

“Gusto din natin lumapit lalo sa komunidad o barangay that's why we are going down. We want to serve our people much better, make it easy for them to come up with their requirements with regards to clearances most especially here,” Cascolan told reporters in a press briefing.

Cascolan said a drive-through facility is also being planned by the CSG. (Third Anne Peralta-Malonzo/SunStar Philippines)
