Giant sailfish caught in Samboan

A LOCAL fisherman from Samboan surprised townsfolk on Sunday, Oct. 30, 2020, with a big catch of Sailfish, locally known as "Malasugi".

Bernardito "Nandito" Peilago Dimol and the 38-kilo Malasugi instantly became the town's feat.

Dimol got the priced catch with just a line and cloth bait.

The local government of Samboan in a Facebook post said Dimol's catch just shows that the marine life in the municipal waters within the Tañon Strait is still rich. (MVG)
