THE Covid-19 pandemic has prompted a lot of people to engage in cultivating and growing their desired plants fueled by their love and enthusiasm for planting.

This is now the trend that enabled the advent of the so-called "Plantitos and Plantitas" or individuals who love to plant various species of flowers and other ornamental plants that help delight their hearts.

It is also known to help improve personal dispositions while enduring the uncertainty brought about by Covid-19 as planting makes time worthwhile and valuable.

Robina Quño, a caretaker of Alit Pottery in Barangay Pahanocoy, Bacolod City, said a lot of people buy various types of flower pots in the well-known pottery district in the City of Smiles.

Due to the economic crisis, pots were made affordable to the people despite the intermittent rains every day.

Pahanocoy is thriving in the pottery industry in the city.

It started decades ago and people here and outside of Bacolod get their pots from Pahanocoy.

She said that in April the prices of pots were higher as compared now.

Pahanocoy pots are made affordable and the beautiful designs help illustrate the quality of the pots.

Aside from pots, they also make other clay products such as large jars (Bangga), the cooking stove made of clay, bricks, water fountains, figurines, and many others.*
