24 persons infected with coronavirus in Cagayan de Oro

TWENTY-THREE residents and a locally stranded individual (LSI) in Cagayan de Oro have tested positive for Sars-CoV-2, bringing the total number of confirmed coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in the city to 1,372.

Of the 23 new local cases, one is a local authorized person outside residence (Apor) and 10 are close contacts of previously confirmed cases, Acting City Health Office Dr. Lorraine Nery said.

The profiles of the new Covid-19 cases in Cagayan de Oro City are the following:

* 1,349th case: a 39-year-old male LSI from Isabela. He arrived in Cagayan de Oro via plane on October 16 and was brought to the city isolation unit. He was swabbed on October 21 and the result came out positive. He is asymptomatic and is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

* 1,350th case: a 33-year-old male resident of Barangay Canitoan. He works as a driver of an armored van. His last day of duty was on October 13. He had a fever and sore throat on October 14 and was admitted in a private hospital.

The City Health Office identified eight close contacts of the man.

* 1,351st case: a 67-year-old male resident of Barangay Kauswagan, who was exposed to his wife, the 1,291st case. He had a cough on October 19. His last day of exposure was on October 20 and he was admitted in a private hospital. He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified three household contacts of the man.

* 1,352nd case: a 43-year-old male resident of Barangay Macasandig who was exposed to his wife, the 1,201st case. He is a government employee whose last day of duty was on October 16. His last day of exposure was on October 17. He was brought to the city isolation unit on October 18. He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified two direct contacts of the man.

* 1,353rd case: a 32-year-old female resident of Barangay Bulua who was exposed to her co-worker, the 1,132nd case. She works as a supervisor of a private company. Her last day of exposure was on October 8 and her last day of duty was on October 15. He was admitted in a private hospital on October 20.

The City Health Office identified two close contacts of the woman.

* 1,354th case: a 49-year-old female resident of Barangay Tablon who was exposed to her husband, the 1,355th case. She works in a factory in Barangay Bugo. Her last day of duty was on October 14. She had flu-like symptoms on October 15 and was isolated in her home. She was admitted to a hospital in Bukidnon.

* 1,355th case: a 48-year-old male resident of Barangay Tablon who is a delivery employee. He had a fever on October 10. He had a history of travel in a municipality in Misamis Oriental. He was admitted to a hospital in Bukidnon.

The City Health Office identified eight close contacts of the man.

* 1,356th case: a 41-year-old female resident of Barangay 13. She was exposed to the 1,179th case. Her last day of exposure was on October 13 and was isolated in her home on October 14. She was brought to the city isolation unit on October 18. She is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

* 1,357th case: a 24-year-old male resident of Barangay Carmen who was exposed to the 1,179th case. He is the grandson of the 1,179th case. His last day of exposure was on October 14. He was brought to the city isolation unit on October 18. He experienced colds on the same day. He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

* 1,358th case: an 18-year-old female resident of Barangay Bonbon who was exposed to the 1,152nd, 1,153rd, 1,154th, and 1,155th cases. She is the sister of the 1,152nd, 1,153rd and 1,155t4 cases; and the daughter of the 1,155th case. She was brought to the city isolation unit on October 11.

According to City Health Office Epidemiologist Dr. Joselito Retuya, the result of the first swab test of the young lady was negative. The result of her repeat swab came out positive. She is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified five close contacts of the young lady.

* 1,359th case: a nine-year-old male resident of Barangay Macasandig who was exposed to his mother, the 1,201st case. His last day of exposure was on October 17. He was brought to the city isolation unit on October 18. He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

* 1,360th case: a 45-year-old female resident of Barangay Bayabas who was exposed to her husband, the 1,183rd case. Her last day of exposure was on October 13. She underwent home quarantine from October 13 to 18. She was brought to the city isolation unit on October 19. She is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified three close contacts of the woman.

* 1,361st case: a 12-year-old male resident of Barangay 13 who was exposed to the 1,179th case. He is the grandson of the 1,179th case. His last day of exposure was on October 13. He was brought to the city isolation unit on October 18. He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

* 1,362nd case: a 27-year-old male resident of Barangay Puerto. He had an onset of cough and colds on September 26 and was admitted in a private hospital on October 18. He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified six household contacts of the man.

* 1,363rd case: a 28-year-old female resident of Barangay Nazareth who works as a supervisor in a company. Her last day of duty was on October 17 and underwent home quarantine on October 18. He experienced colds and loss of sense of smell and taste on October 19. He was admitted in a private hospital on October 20.

The City Health Office identified four household contacts of the woman.

* 1,364th case: a 19-year-old female resident of Barangay Gusa. Her last day of duty was on October 9. She was admitted in a private hospital on October 20. She is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified nine direct contacts of the woman.

* 1,365th case: a 28-year-old male local Apor, an architect, residing in Barangay Tablon. His last day of duty was on October 15. He had a fever and chills on October 16. He underwent home quarantine on October 18. He had a cough and colds on the same day. He was brought to the city isolation unit on October 19. He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

* 1,366th case: a 42-year-old male resident of Barangay Carmen. His last day of duty was on October 13. He experienced loss of sense of smell on October 14. He went to the JR Borja General Hospital for consultation and was brought to the city isolation unit. He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified 10 close household contacts of the man.

* 1,367th case: a 35-year-old male resident of Barangay Kauswagan. He is a businessman in Cogon market. He had a cough on October 12 and underwent home quarantine. He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified two direct contacts of the man.

* 1,368th case: a 89-year-old female resident of Barangay Bugo. She had a fever and loss of appetite on October 18. She was admitted in a private hospital on October 20. She is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified five direct contacts of the woman.

* 1,369th case: a 50-year-old male resident of Barangay Kauswagan. He was admitted to a private hospital on October 18 due to shortness of breath.

The City Health Office identified one close contact of the man.

* 1,370th case: a 40-year-old male resident of Barangay 27. He had a fever on October 16 and was admitted to a private hospital on October 18. He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified one direct contact of the man.

* 1,371st case: a 19-year-old male resident of Barangay Macabalan. He went to a private hospital on October 19. He was admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC) on October 20.

* 1,372nd case: a 77-year-old male resident of Barangay Macabalan. He had diarrhea on October 13. He was admitted to a private hospital on October 15. He is set to be transferred to the NMMC or the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

Cagayan de Oro has recorded 419 active cases, 27 of whom are admitted to the NMMC, 382 are outpatients, and 10 are ROFs/LSIs.
