3 CDRRMO personnel to lose jobs after failing drug test

THREE personnel of the Cebu City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) failed the surprise drug test conducted by the City Office of Substance Abuse Prevention (Cosap).

One belongs to the Quick Response Team while the other two are from Emergency Medical Services, said Cosap head Jonah John Rodriguez.

The CDRRMO personnel were the first to undergo the surprise drug test since the Cosap resumed testing Cebu City Hall employees for illegal drugs.

CDRRMO officer-in-charge Ramil Ayuman said the three are job order employees.

Ayuman said he will meet with them on Monday, Oct. 26, 2020, to listen to their side. Then he will advise them not to report to work, he said.

Ayuman said Mayor Edgardo Labella had asked for their names so the latter could fire them immediately.

The 209 personnel of the CDRRMO were tested for drugs on Oct. 22.

Before the start of the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic in March, 77 employees failed the surprise drug tests the Cosap conducted in different City Hall offices, Rodriguez said. (JJL)
