Turning 50: Gerlyn enjoys midlife with a grateful heart

REACHING the golden year is a milestone for everyone as this age marks the fulfillment of true happiness earned from succeeding in the different life-changing experiences.

Life has never been easy in the early phase of maturity, but if one is blessed with a prayerful life, those ups and downs will indeed enable us to withstand the test of life.

The former journalist, now civil servant Gerlyn Regalado entered the period of the so-called "Golden Year" with a happy and fulfilling life.

She marked her 50th birthday on October 23, celebrating it with a few members of her family, dear friends and buddies who shared her joy and happiness.

Reaching the golden year is very meaningful to her because she has succeeded in raising her two daughters Nicole who is currently working overseas and CJ who is still studying.

Her happiness did not just come without enduring life's toil. Her peace did not come in the absence of discord. Her love was never won and celebrated without flares and laughter. But great love stays forever.

Her simple celebration was truly meaningful for those who knew her as kind and sincere.

She is happy with what she has fought and achieved in life. She is happy that her firstborn daughter Nicole is merrily discovering her strength and blessings overseas. CJ, her second daughter, is also growing as a fine and happy person.

She does not ask for more as long as everyone close to her heart is healthy, happy and living their lives to the fullest.

She continues to pray for a peaceful, prosperous and healthy life for everyone.

This is the beginning of a truly happy life she said as she thanked her family, relatives and friends who wished her and her family well.

She is proof that 50 is fabulous and awesome.
