A 27-YEAR-OLD man was injured after he was shot by his neighbor in Purok Malvar Cubay, Barangay Villamonte, Bacolod City Sunday evening, October 25.
Police identified the victim as Joel Torremoro of Barangay Villamonte.
Police Major Charles Gever, chief of Police Station 4, said Monday, October 26, that the victim sustained multiple wounds when his neighbor Toting Vallidor fired at him around 9:30 p.m.
Investigation showed Vallidor went to the house of Torremoro and created an alarm and scandal in front of the victim's house.
Gever said when Torremoro went outside the house, the suspect fired at him using an unidentified firearm and fled.
The victim was brought to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital.
Gever said they are eyeing personal grudge as possible motive in shooting the victim, and they are still conducting follow-up operation to arrest the suspect who will be charged for frustrated murder.
Meanwhile, a 20-year-old girl was robbed inside the public utility jeepney (PUJ) on Lacson Street, Barangay 4, Bacolod City Sunday evening, October 25.
Police identified the victim as Charlene Jane Salgado, of Barangay Handumanan.
Police records showed the victim was on board a PUJ around 7 p.m. when an unidentified suspect snatched her cellular phone. The suspect also threatened her using a bladed weapon and fled.
In follow-up operation conducted by operatives of Police Station 2, the cellular phone of the victim was recovered from the house of Rick Ferrer, who managed to escape.
