Bacolod logs lowest single-day Covid-19 cases

BACOLOD City recorded only two new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) on Tuesday, October 27, the lowest since July 16, an official said.

City Administrator Em Ang said only one is a new case, while the other is a repeat or confirmatory swab test.

"This is the lowest daily record since July 16. We are definitely on track to significantly reduce the case count versus last month," she said.

She added they are hopeful and praying to God that this record will continue.

As of October 27, Bacolod City has a total of 4,751 Covid-19 cases. Of the number, 4,301 patients have recovered and 122 have died.

On September 5, Bacolod City recorded its highest single day Covid-19 cases at 237.

The City Government also prepared enough facilities in a surge of Covid-19 cases, since home quarantine is no longer allowed.

As of October 26, of 820 bed capacity in the seven hospitals in Bacolod, 162 beds are being utilized and 658 are available.

Meanwhile, Mayor Evelio Leonardia also ordered the Bacolod Respiratory Outpatient (BRO) Center at the Bacolod Arts, Youth and Sports Center to extend its free consultation hours from the previous of 8 a.m. to 12 noon, to whole day 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Mondays to Fridays.

The new schedule adjustment will accommodate the symptomatic Covid-19 patients.
